Bay Area Tech Exec, 38, Who's Been Arrested for Stabbing to Death Cash App Founder Bob Lee After Argument in Car Spilled Out Onto San Francisco Street at 2:30am

The tech executive who has been arrested for the murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee can be named as 38-year-old Berkeley graduate, Nima Momeni.

Momeni was arrested today at his home in Emeryville, around nine miles from where Lee was stabbed to death on April 4. He is the owner of Expand IT, a tech business in the Bay Area, and describes himself online as a start-up entrepreneur.

Lee was stabbed in the street last week while visiting the city from Miami, where he lived.

It is unclear if Momeni attended the same tech conference Lee was in town for, but the pair were seen in Momeni's car together at around 2.30am, moments before the stabbing.

They had some kind of confrontation that led to the attack, according to police sources.

Momeni was taken into custody this morning at the loft where he lives and works.

Neighbors confirmed his arrest to DailyMail.com on Thursday.

Public relations expert Sam Singer told DailyMail.com Momeni lived and worked out of the 'high end premiere loft' in the Beslar Building in Emeryville.

I thought this was targeted, not some random crime.

Couldn’t agree on who was going to do the pitching and who would do the catching.

In the early morn.
Methinks you are on the right track.
After all, were you to want ...er...different folks, what better place than San Peloshitsco - home of her horny, drunk hubby.

Tech exec Nima Momeni arrested for homicide of Money App founder Bob ...

The name Momeni means "A person who has strong believe in god. Chapter 23 of the Quran, describes a "momen" person (Surah Al-Muminoon)" and is of Arabic origin.

I thought he was married and had a family in Miami, but according to the article, he is either separated or divorced.

“Krista Lee, who was previously married to him, told local site Fox News 2 that she remains perplexed at the suspect’s motive, but that the pair knew each other.”

Yes. It seems to have been a business conflict, since that was why the victim had been in town. I saw somewhere that they had worked together or been involved in a business deal together, and the victim was in town to attend a tech conference where he knew a lot of the people.

BTW, for the sheltered folk among us, getting back at 2:30 am after a conference, dinner and the “after party” is not unusual and does not indicate that the participants are gay.

As usual, our FReepers are coming out of the woodwork to blame the victim.

This started with, “well, he deserved it for being out on the street at that time” to now saying he deserved it because their “gaydar” is going off.

Nobody deserves it, and the streets of any city should be safe enough to walk on at any hour of the day or night (they were when I was growing up in NYC). And as for the gay stuff, he was stabbed by a tech bro driving him home, and even if he was gay, he didn’t deserve it...and it shows how completely unhinged things have become nowadays.

Everybody is in a constant state of rage, and that’s not normal.

Not sure, but the surname appears to be Iranian.

I looked at his LinkedIn profile, and he lists Farsi as a language, so he likely is Persian, but I can't find any evidence he was born in this country. He graduated from Berkeley, and lists Laney College too, and his work history goes to 2005.

I doubt he was religious, at all. They said this about him: partied hard, worked late (friends called him "Dracula"), liked sports cars and boats (still parked outside his apartment this AM).

I suspect this stemmed from some kind of business matter.

Not office nerds, gay nerds. A knife is a common weapon in homosexual murders.
