If I understand this story, I don’t understand why it’s a story.
I thought his story was intensly amusing. Nothing is funnier than seeing something bizarre or ridiculous right in the middle of a VERY serious or sad moment shared by the public.
That would produce what I call ‘Forbidden Laughter’, somewhat like being caught giggling and snorting during a funeral or your Grandma Harriet’s Wake, with all the family there.

If these two are starting a podcast together, and it looks like yesterday was the debut, I'm definitely subscribing.
Even Turtleman gives homage to those who were murdered by muslims.
I think maybe some people are trying to imply it was offensive or disrespectful he was dressed like this. But the reality he didn’t want to have the costume on at that time, but that’s how it was.

I understand that.
If someone is a big Dana Carvery fan, I suppose this is an interesting story to that person.
To me, it just has a “look at me” quality. It’s a non-story, best forgotten.
If you read the whole story, I think he was surprised and embarrassed it leaked out.
If the excerpt doesn’t grab my attention, then I’m certainly not going to click going to be bored any further.
This, for some strange reason, reminds me of my father’s saying, “That’s about as funny as a fart in church.”

It’s been on for at least a year. Lots of interviews with former SNL cast members and behind-the-scenes stories.
Almost all of the late 80s/early 90s SNL folks turned out to be fairly conservative. Even Carvey’s “George Bush” imitation wasn’t really malicious, and Bush even liked it.
