“Star Wars” actor Paul Grant has died after suddenly collapsing in the street outside London’s King’s Cross train station.
Grant, who has held roles in two of the biggest movie franchises in existence, was found unresponsive on the ground outside the station on Thursday, according to Sky News.
Despite best efforts to resuscitate Grant, he was declared brain dead by doctors following the collapse, the outlet noted.
He had been kept alive on life support since his collapse.
However, the actor was pronounced dead early Monday morning after his family ultimately opted to remove him from life support due to his diagnosis.
A London Ambulance Service representative told Sky News that they had dispatched a unit on Thursday after receiving “reports of an incident.”
“We sent an ambulance crew and a medic in a response car,” the representative said.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to hospital as a priority.”
The actor is survived by his girlfriend, two daughters, and one son, as well as stepchildren and grandchildren.
One of the daughters, Sophie Jayne Grant, gave a pained statement to Sky News:
“I’m heartbroken… No girl deserves their dad to be taken away…
“He was so well known and loved [for his work]. He’s gone too soon.”
Grant has held roles in cult classics like 1988’s “Willow” and 1986’s “Labyrinth.”
But most fans are likely familiar with his work from two massive movie franchises — “Harry Potter” and “Star Wars.”
According to the movie database IMDb, Grant has an uncredited role in “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” the first film in that franchise’s history, as one of the goblins.
In that movie, goblins were typically seen running the Gringotts Bank.
But Grant’s most iconic work easily came in 1983 when he portrayed an Ewok in the third Star Wars film “Return of the Jedi.”
According to the New York Post, the 4-foot-4 movie star lived with Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, “a rare genetic type of dwarfism.”
Grant took the dwarfism in stride, often jokingly calling himself the “King of Dwarves,” according to his girlfriend.
“He always brought a smile and laughter to everyone’s face,” Jayne Grant told the Post.
No cause of death has been revealed.
That’s Robert Reich
He added: “I’ve spent a lot of money on drugs and prostitutes, money from the films.”
Hollywood.
Ditto that!
Thanks!
Having never suffered a life of dwarfism where even your kitchen sink is out of reach, I have to wonder how they deal with it their entire lives; but more especially, thru their years of adolescence when kids can be at their cruelest.
Hopefully he has found peace at last.......
Fame, fortune, drugs and women are just temporary worldly pleasures that don’t fulfill what really makes you truly happy.
It is sad how many people think it is.
Of course if you listen to the world......that’s what you’ll hear.
I didn’t know he was a dwarf. I take back what I said... And may he rest in peace.
He went over to the DarkSide?
RIP
All I can say is, Peter Dinklage better have a darn good alibi.
“ I had a friend whose eyes were pointed in slightly different directions..........”
I dated a cock-eyed girl once.
I had to break up with her because she was seeing a guy on the side.
“There is something going on with his eyes in this picture.
The eyes are pointed at different focal points, as though one of the eyes was false.”

“Dead he is”
Just too sad.
People Mag had a nice article about him a couple of months ago. It was inspiring, how he overcame his disabilities to become a prominent actor.
May he rest in peace.
So, in other words...
...he went out happy.
The only hush-hush data now is, “how many jabs did he have?”
People mag makes every popular trendy person look good. No matter what their personal issues are.
In a country where an ambulance can take twelve hours to arrive, I’ll bet he was picked up immediately.
