Jude is an adorable and perfect little guy. *pic below*. He went from healthy to struggling to breathe in what seemed overnight and is now in PICU. I am helpless to do anything but pray and posting here came to mind. If nothing else, may help ease the stress on Mom and Dad a tiny bit. Thanks for any advice.
During my years as a pediatric nurse, I have seen lots of babies get admitted to the PICU with RSV. None of them died. Unlike influenza, which does kill children.
In the PICU, there will be nurses and hospitalists watching baby closely. They know what they are doing, and baby is in good hands.
Praying for precious little Jude.
He has a good patron saint.
St. Jude Thaddeus was one of the twelve disciples and a martyr and is the patron of desperate situations.
One of my three sons went through five years of RSV, always hitting him within the month of April in Massachusetts. Spent many a day and night in the hospital with him in an enclosed bed of increasing size as he got older. Taking him home with a albuterol nebulizer and an oral steroid Prednisolone we had to force down his throat. At that time, that was all they had to treat it.
Prayer ping
Prayers lifting for the little guy.
Heavenly Father, please hold him close.
Prayers up.
One of my children developed a viral respiratory infection at 6 week old. He spent 2 weeks in the children’s ICU. Very scary time for us but he recovered.
Such a precious precious baby.
Praying, and yes, the Bible says “ the prayers of the righteous availeth much”...
May God touch his sweet body with healing.
Can't recall any dying....
But I work sometimes in a very rural Hosp. now....so I am out of that loop. I would guess...your baby is going to get better.
Prayers up for this precious baby boy....
Prayers up for beautiful little Jude. Get well young man.
My daughter had RSV shortly before turning 1. It was a long recovery and I literally never left her side for weeks. Stopped going to work and my wife and I spent the whole time with her, praying and having others in prayer groups do the same.
She pulled out of it without major complication - A bit of a different story from luckystarmom who went through this almost 30 years ago.
Doctors are getting a better handle on it these days. Stay strong and share the same advice for everyone involved. It’s not the sentence it was many years ago.
Ivermectin.
Please...we’re talking about an infant thats being kept alive by machines here. Fragile. Vulnerable. So delicate. If this was about a teen or adult with a hardened immune system...sure..ivermectin. Why not. Please dont recommend to anyone that they give any medications to an infant thats fighting for its life. Judes energy is so low that he cant breathe on his own. Cant even suckle liquid.
Awww…sending up prayers for precious Jude’s full healing.
Also sending up prayers for Jude’s parents and for the medical staff attending him.
In Jesus’ powerful name. 🙏
In my prayers.
A lousy disease and a lot of these kids would develop wheezing with every cold for the next year or two.
I am excited to be able to reply back to all of you wonderful people that Jude is no longer in PICU and has been transferred to his own room. His strength is wonderful and the nurses have described him as “feisty” again. I want you all to know that his condition changed for the better very soon after this request for prayers went up on FR. God is so good! Thank you again and blessings all. My apologies if I have missed anyone.
That’s the best news I’ve heard all day! Thanks for the update!
Praise God!
