During my years as a pediatric nurse, I have seen lots of babies get admitted to the PICU with RSV. None of them died. Unlike influenza, which does kill children.
In the PICU, there will be nurses and hospitalists watching baby closely. They know what they are doing, and baby is in good hands.

I'm a RRT....but don't deal with Peds anymore...we used to give them Ribavirin...under tents. They prolly now have better tx's

Can't recall any dying....

But I work sometimes in a very rural Hosp. now....so I am out of that loop. I would guess...your baby is going to get better.
