Former Reuters science reporter: The media is lying about CO2 and a "climate crisis"

Is “lying” too strong a word? “Corrupt” may work better to describe the process in which the media has transformed itself into a propaganda amplifier, as Neil Winton described yesterday in the Daily Sceptic. A former science-tech reporter and editor at Reuters for 32 years, Winton had access to the top minds in those fields, as well as the studies and data they produced.

At first, Winton believed the hysteria from the activists — until the scientists and the data convinced him otherwise:

When I became Reuters global Science and Technology Correspondent in the mid-1990s, the global warming story was top of my agenda. Already by then the BBC was scaring us saying we would all die unless humankind mended its selfish ways. Carbon dioxide (CO2) was the culprit and had to be tamed, then eliminated. I had no reason to think this wasn’t established fact. I was wrong.

My Reuters credentials meant that I had easy access to the world’s finest climate scientists. To my amazement, none of these would say categorically that the link between CO2 and global warming, now known as climate change, was a proven scientific fact. Some said human production of CO2 was a probable cause, others that it might make some contribution; some said CO2 had no role at all. Everybody agreed that the climate had warmed over the last 10,000 years as the ice age retreated, but most weren’t really sure why. The sun’s radiation, which changes over time, was a favoured culprit.

That kind of balanced reporting — relating the facts and the arguments from both sides — eventually disappeared, at Reuters as well as at most other media outlets. Winton at first chalks this up to plain laziness:...

It was always about gaining control over the use of energy, and therefore, the means of production.

The solubility of CO2 in water is inversely proportional to temperature

Since CO2 is soluble in water and the oceans cover a majority of the Earth's surface, the oceans sequester more CO2 than any other CO2 sink.

Because of the inverse solubility of CO2 with temperature, the colder the oceans get, the more CO2 they can absorb.

Conversely, when the oceans get warmer, they expel CO2.

Atmospheric CO2 therefore follows global temperatures, it does not cause them.

You can see the yearly global atmospheric CO2 fluctuation as the oceans warm and cool with the seasons in the NOAA graph below.

The "settled science" that CO2 causes "climate change" is criminal sophistry.

When they came out with bottled water, we used to joke when they would start charging for air.

Here is a FACT:

CO2 levels are higher than in the recent past. Most of that is due to burning hydrocarbons.

The Earth is 15% more green...an area larger than the US is now green today that was not green in the past.

That extra green is due to the higher CO2.

Isn’t it amazing how natural balance happens before our eyes?

Of course, it is discounted/ignored by those who have a fascist agenda to control every aspect of our lives.

The Global Socialist Watermelons have been using this as a propaganda vehicle from the start.

Read Garret Hardin's Tragedy of the Commons. He wrote it in 1968. He was pushing for the developed world to massively subsidize the 3rd world, a one world government to control the "commons" (air, water, etc). This was a couple decades before "global warming" became the vehicle but notice how the supposed problem and the solutions are exactly the same.

The "population bomb/depletion of resources" in the 60s was yet another such attempt as was "global cooling" in the 70s. he "solutions" to the "crisis" are always the same - reduce consumption, give total power to a world government, and implement global socialism. That's a dead giveaway to anybody paying attention.

CCN advises journalists to routinely add to stories about bad weather and flooding to suggest climate change is making these events more intense. This is not an established fact, as a simple routine check would show.

When watching Bimbo weather girls watch of 'this is a record high' without ever saying (about a different area) that 'this is a record low'...

***we used to joke when they would start charging for air.***

I saw an old Mexican movie about this in which one man said “I wish we could tax the air they breathe!”

Others thought it was a brilliant idea and levied a tax on doors and windows in houses.
Result was people bricked up doors and windows with just one little door or ladder from one window.

He would have been enlightened years earlier if he had easy access to Free Republic.

Sadly I think it will take a catastrophes like massive power blackouts, hundreds freezing to death in their homes without heat and the prospect of mass starvation to cause people to wake up to the climate change hoax

Of course they are. The great lie of the century has been perpetrated and the whole world has gobbled it down as scientific fact that can’t be disputed. Facts that prove it isn’t happening get ignored because the .eft have Invented the “New Truth”, and anyone that disputes it and shows evidence is ostracized, canceled and ignored

Besides that, CO2 is plant food, without it we DIE.

It’s more than just solubility that makes the ocean such a great carbon sink. Phytoplankton is eaten and becomes incorporated in all those carbonaceous shells that eventually end up like the chalk cliffs of Dover. It’s that huge buffering effect of the ocean that allows life on Earth as we know it.

corrupt = lying, fer Gawd’s sake!

Temperature impact of CO2 levels off at 400ppm, which is now. CO2 levels were multiples higher tens of millions of years ago — nasty cave men!
CO2 at 1200ppm enhances food plant growth so much that hunger could be eliminated.

A higher global temp will green the Sahara, again, like it was tens of thousands of years ago.

The left has turned science into witchcraft as they seek to turn the entire world into a turd world of poverty and despair ruled by a handful of autocrats:

Seems Reuters has been purging anyone who speaks reality:
