Changes in how the heart produces energy may be the earliest signal of cardiac deterioration (NAD+ source helpful)

Heart failure is often identified only when the heart has already deteriorated. This is in large part because the cause is unknown for about 70% of people who experience heart failure.

Researchers have discovered that one of the earliest signs of heart failure is a change in how the heart produces energy, with findings offering a potential way to preempt heart failure before the heart begins to deteriorate.

Led by Dr. Paul Delgado-Olguín, the research may help explain the diversity of causes underlying heart failure.

"We were surprised to find that dysregulation of energy production was the earliest sign of heart failure," says Delgado-Olguín. "People associate deficiency in energy production with later stage heart failure, but our findings show this could actually be the cause of heart failure, not a result."

In a healthy heart, a protein called lysine demethylase 8 (Kdm8) helps to maintain a balanced energy use, also known as metabolism, by repressing TBX15, another protein that decreases energy production.

The research team analyzed a large dataset on gene expression in human hearts at a later stage of heart failure and found that KDM8 was less active. This allowed TBX15 to be more highly expressed, leading to changes in metabolism. Researchers also found that TBX15 was expressed at the highest levels in hearts where energy production genes were most strongly suppressed.

After identifying change in energy production as an early sign of heart failure, the research team drilled down further to explore how metabolic pathways could be modified to prevent the failure. In doing so they found that the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) pathway, which regulates energy metabolism, was less active. The team was then able to intervene and prevent heart failure in a mouse model by providing NAD+ injections and boosting energy production.

Loss of energy production in the heart leads to heart failure.

NAD+ was found to prevent the failure. There are multiple ways to increase NAD+ naturally, but it’s primarily through supplementation.

But behind every cloud there is sun shining.
The body has remarkable recuperateive powers.
Begining an exercise program can even create new arteries to supplement clogged arteries in heart and rest of the body.

Just diagnosed with CHF, entire team of cardiologists at hospital agreed that lack of exercise caused it. Before our idiot governor closed the gyms, I was doing a mile a day on treadmill, very fast walking and my friend insists I was running. Cleared by cardio guys to PLEASE do at least a mile a day.

I’m sorry to hear that but you’re home now and on the mend!

I just started “Liposomal NAD+” from Orgabay. No idea of the quality / potency, but seemed to be the best deal on Amazon when buying multiples in a single order.

Also, as I posted on a thread earlier, an eBay seller has nicotinamide pantothenate (more or less precursor to NAD+) for about $6. These clearance items are expiring later this month but many of the supplements I take are a year or two past expiration anyway.

I do not honestly know if the finding that nicotinamide riboside might increase one type of breast cancer was valid, or if it applies to Nicotinamide pantothenate or even NAD+.

Get well!

Interesting, I’ll talk with my doc. He just Okayed biofeedback to get my heart back in rhythm before ghastly “cardioversion” procedure, one possible side effect is death. NO WAY JOSE.

Actually, I was a biofeedback genius, was featured on some big national TV show long ago changing. my brain waves. Can also change heart rhythm, virtually anything else. Been a very long time, but I just ordered a biofeedback tester from AMZ, will see how well I can do now.

Not if they've been jabbed it isn't.

One hour of low to moderate aerobic exercise daily completely eliminates this risk.

A long walk.

My mom had CHF as did my oldest son. The stem cell options came too late for both of them. Both of them were playing the Lasix game to purge excess fluid that the heart couldn't move while playing chicken with kidney function. Mom was just about at the end of the Lasix game when the docs delivered the news that she had cancer in both lungs. The "wet" lungs were more than just CHF fluid accumulation. She passed about 10 days after that news. At 83, there just wasn't enough fuel in the tank fight cancer too.

100 mg is a very low dose of NAD+. Obviously you can take more capsules (and they say so), but that 30 count will be gone really quick!
I bought 300 capsules at a much lower cost per capsule.

I take 500 or 1,000 mg / day. Also, nicotinamide pantothenate (two capsules).

We have used the following:

- Tru Niagen
- Thorne Research - both ResveraCel and NiaCel
- Renue By Science (Liposomal Nicotinamide Riboside)

We currently use the Renue form. Tru Niagen developed the original manufactured compound, and Thorne made its own after Tru Niagen charged too much.

All should help.

Yes, but some folks just want to try it so they can go from there and not break the bank. They are very Reputable, so 20 bucks to see if its for you will not break the bank and you are getting GOOD STUFF!

Just started taking NAD Nasal spray from Ageless.
