Signs of unrest surfaced almost immediately after the team's defeat Sunday Heartbroken fans reportedly swarming City Hall and clashing with police
Mayhem broke out in the City of Brotherly Love last night following the Philadelphia Eagles' narrow Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Signs of unrest surfaced almost immediately after the team's 38-35 defeat Sunday night - with disgruntled fans swarming City Hall and clashing with cops that had been stationed throughout the city in case of such an outcome.
Police scanner audio after 10:30pm suggested police had made multiple arrests, as citizens were seen scaling lampposts, chanting 'f*** the Chiefs', and hurling glass bottles throughout the city's Downtown neighborhood.
Footage circulating on social media also shows several residents lighting fireworks, with others egging on armed SWAT teams tasked with keeping the peace.
In one shocking clip, a group of Philadelphians were seen lighting fireworks, with some reports indicating the explosives are being thrown at officers.
Initial reports said that cops used tear gas to deter any further disruptions, but that turned out not to be the case.
The loss is compounded by the fact the city's baseball team, the Phillies, similarly crashed out of the World Series just a few months ago.

For the record, that Santa was drunk off his ass. But what does that say about Philadelphia?
The Search sucks and has since ‘99.:)
I'm guessing that observation is spot-on!
It would seem that KC is more conservative, but it is as rabidly Dem as Philly.
I was doing work on the puter, as the game was on. The call that clinched the game was shite. They should make a rule, the NFL LOVES new rules, that failure to try and advance the ball is a penalty, 5 yards and the clock stops. It would end the boring running out the clock portion of a mediocre league.
I have never seen a penalty called on a team, to give them time to throw a challenge flag. Plus the holding at the end, that made the bookies money and gave the game to the better kinda black QB.
‘I didn’t follow one minute of this Super Bowl.’
and millions of people did; your point..?
There are a lot of stupid people in this country?

It’s the Jill Biden curse. First the Phillies now the Eagles.

The easiest way to end that sh!t is to have the clock stop every time the whistle blows.
Keeping the clock running when a play stops and the officials are handling the ball is one of the dumbest features of any sport. The only other sport that does this is soccer — which pretty much tells you how stupid it is.
YEP!
Who DID NOT SEE THAT COMING?.................
One and a half......................
Well, they are both inanimate objects.....................
IT WAS CLASSY IN 1776!
Then it sorta just went down from there......................
So, giving up multiple walk-in touchdowns was a bad “strategy?” Give the Chiefs credit....they learned about it and took a knee on the last one.
