Ukrainian forces have put an advanced Russian BMPT Terminator armored fighting vehicle out of commission for the first time, according to the Ukrainian Marines. The Terminator is a relatively new addition to Russia's ground arsenal and only a small number of them are known to be in service, making this kill quite the trophy for the Ukrainian military.
Members of the Ukrainian Marine Corps’ 140th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion helped destroy the BMPT, according to a post on the service’s official Facebook page. The post explains the Marines belonging to the unit shared the Terminator’s coordinates with nearby artillery forces, who then carried out the attack, stating:
Hasta la vista, baby! Soldiers of the 140th separate reconnaissance battalion of the marines found the detonated Russian BMPT "Terminator", transferred the coordinates to the artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and further adjusted the fire. So, we see that this allegedly "invincible" and "unique" combat vehicle burns just as well as the rest of Russian scrap metal.

It isn’t intended for open field use - the BMP-T is intended to be a tank escort vehicle, specifically for urban warfare in built up areas. The AA missiles are intended for use against helicopters maneuvering around high-rises and apartment towers and such, as are the autocannons. The autocannons are also for use against high angle threats, such as ambushes firing down at the tanks from building rooftops - threats that tanks can’t elevate any of their guns high enough to deal with. It comes from the Russian experiences in the first and second Chechen War, and elsewhere. It is rather a specialist vehicle.
United States military has nothing but the best and their giving it to the Ukraine
Me too. It’s as if the Russians are using a WWI mindset, “That didn’t work, let’s do it again”
Then what happened with the balloon?
That is almost terminal-guidance accurate.
That BMP was bracketed left and right by no more than 10 meters, and maybe a direct hit.

Perhaps laser designators are in use, or military -grade drone imagery. Dunno
impressive primary or secondary explosion. Guessing secondary.
Obviously there is a ‘asset’ overhead.
The Terminator got TERMINATED!!! LOL!
Stationary target destroyed by indirect fire.
Impressive.

It won’t be back.
Three man crew in the hull. Some may have got out, or not.
It’s more survivable than the usual tank, but not perfect.
The Armata should be even more survivable.
Moving targets need real time targeting. Not in the scope of satellite recon. This was almost certainly spotted by a drone.
Ah, five in the hull, two just to operate the grenade launchers.
Fighting an existential war started by Russia.
Looks like some kind of waste-of-a-tank-chassis Flak Buggy.
War is so much fun, isn’t it!?
You must be so happy, like a good little sociopath.
Years ago the US Navy operated a captured BMP type chassis with a radar dish attached to it in the high desert near Fallon. Got up next to it one day and was struck by two things. 1) How big they really are. 2) How poor the workmanship was that went into them.
Tell Putin to leave Ukraine.
Looks more like an M1 BOLO.🤔
Ha!
