Teammates and coaches are mourning the loss of a former collegiate tennis star who died suddenly at the age of 31 over the weekend.
Former University of Georgia standout Lilly Kimbell reportedly died on Sunday, according to her family. Kimbell's family says that she had been experiencing kidney issues that led to a heart attack. CPR was performed at her home and she was transported to the hospital, but her family tragically were forced to make the decision to take her off of life support.
“We were stunned and heartbroken to learn of Lilly passing away,” said Georgia head coach Jeff Wallace. “I will always remember how she helped create a culture of excellence with her attitude and work ethic. Lilly was a fantastic teammate and was always smiling and laughing during practice and matches. She ranks as one of the most successful doubles players in Georgia tennis history. During the spring of her sophomore year, she went undefeated in doubles with Maho (Kowase), and their 22-match winning streak is still a school record. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.”
Kimbell, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Science in 2014 and a masters in Sport Management in 2016, is one of the most distinguished players to have passed through the university's women's tennis program.
She holds the school record for most consecutive doubles wins in a season, alongside partner Maho Kowase, and she was a part of four teams that made it to the NCAA quarterfinals. She also ranks fourth in career doubles victories with a 109-31 record and seventh in doubles wins in a season with a 32-5 record in 2012.

Kidney disease is no fun.
When the kidneys go, it screws up the electrical system in your body.
When my dad had end stage kidney disease, his heart pretty much short circuited every ten minutes or so. It was like watching torture.
The vaxes can damage organs via suppression of your immune system. I guess kidneys are in the organ risk group.
Look up kidney disease.
This zero to do with vaccines. It has to do with poisoning the body.
Oh, so horrible. I’d hate for anyone to experience that or for the relatives to have to endure it as well.
Or the 31 year old had kidney disease they had been dealing with for years.
A close friend at my former job (I retired) developed myocarditis and now has been on meds for about a year, age 40, physically active, no heart issues before or in his family... Started having issues one month after the shot.
I never even heard of myocarditis before two years ago. Somehow in over 50 years of life that I can remember well, a masters and two bachelors, reading the news daily (a news junky really), I never heard of this, nor did my father, my wife... Where did this “myocarditis” which has always been with us apparently hide all these years?
But no worries, the occupational health nurse at work that was keeping close records on who got sick and didn’t vax and management which was violating privacy rights left and right isn’t keeping those records. No one seems to care.
The vaccines can do this. It would be key to seeing if she took the vax and the timing of that in relation to her health problems.
So sad.

Many people here on FR consider the vaccines as being a likely factor in the spate of recent medical problems in heavily vaxxed countries. You seem to be assured they are not a contributing cause.
I consider both possibilities but the mountain of evidences is getting hard to ignore.
I’ve been hoping this wouldn’t creep up on the tennis circuit. One WTA player has lost her career to long Covid, but haven’t so far seen anyone suffer from the vax.
Tennis world is sickingly woke (I can’t stand listening to the PC drivel TC), so just about everyone but the Djoker lined up for the vax.
Poor thing.
