Many people here on FR consider the vaccines as being a likely factor in the spate of recent medical problems in heavily vaxxed countries. You seem to be assured they are not a contributing cause.
I consider both possibilities but the mountain of evidences is getting hard to ignore.
The article only states "Kimbell's family says that she had been experiencing kidney issues that led to a heart attack." It doesn't say how long those "issues" persisted, nor does it call the "issues" a disease.
It could certainly be shoddy reporting, or it could be that if it really were kidney disease the family would have said that she was struggling with the disease for a long time, rather than the more passive "had been experiencing kidney issues.
You could be correct, but your assumption is not borne out by the facts of the story as presented. However, given that the team and coaches "were stunned and heartbroken to learn of Lilly passing away,” I'd have to assume that she either kept her kidney disease a secret from the team or she wasn't suffering from kidney disease at all.
