NATIONAL FROZEN YOGURT DAY

National Frozen Yogurt Day on February 6th recognizes a sweet frozen dessert that has gone from fad status to staple freezer item in a few decades.

#NationalFrozenYogurtDay

Frozen yogurt sales are increasing every year as people want a healthier alternative to ice cream. The explosion of flavors and topping choices add to the popularity of frozen yogurt.

H.P Hood developed the first frozen yogurt in 1970 in the United States. It was created as a soft-serve treat called Frogurt. Not long afterward, Humphreys and Dannon released their own versions of frozen yogurt. Its popularity grew in the 80s, mostly due to frozen yogurts “health food” status. Ice cream manufacturers soon caught on, offering low-fat options.

Frozen yogurt is again making a comeback as consumers have begun to prefer the tart taste of yogurt. Not only does it find its way into home freezers, but it also is a sweet stop after work or play.

Nother thing I like is fruit juice, orange and raspberry, mixed with sherbert (orange and raspberry too), some heavy cream, and a little milk- mix well like a milkshake.

Frozen Yogurt? Another one of those 'inventions' that was never needed in the first place. :)

There’s a brand of frozen Greek yogurt that makes treats that are very similar to ice cream products, but have fewer calories. It’s called Yasso. Their dipped sea salt caramel Chocolate Crunch bar is my favorite if you can still find it. Also their vanilla crunch bar is quite good, as well as their fudge brownie bar. Beats the 200+ calorie ice cream treats that are out there. https://yasso.com/

I love Culver’s!!

I disagree that there’s a reason for frozen yogurt though, and that’s the calories. It lets me indulge far more frequently than Culver’s does.

That’s every day during the Burden administration.

It’s similar, but also very different. If you look in the frozen section of the grocery store, I bet you’ll find something that you can at least try.

More like a harder snowcone I think. Or denser flavored ice I guess- hard to explain.

I stockpile all my extra calories for Culver’s. I’m driving past them today on my way to town to do some errands.

I can neither confirm nor deny that my truck might turn in there of her own accord! ;)

I get it! Culver’s is a special treat for me!

And vehicles do have minds of their own. That’s what the news media tells me.

We get these Outshine Fruit Bars at Sam's. A very good popsicle. They stay in the garage freezer which is set for zero. Even that cold, they are still moderately soft...not frozen hard at all. Great fruit flavor with chunks of fruit. I'll take these any day over Italian ice. (Note though: I'm a huge fan of gelato.)
