Brighton 29-year-old woman died suddenly from rare cancer
A 29-year-old woman died suddenly of a rare form of cancer - now her friends are raising money to keep her memory alive.
Sarah Dixon, from Brighton, died in December. She had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called insulinoma, which is when tumours form in the pancreas.
This can cause low blood sugar, which has a range of symptoms including confusion, weakness and rapid heartbeat.
It affects just one in two million people and is not normally fatal.
But Sarah abruptly fell into a coma and died on Boxing Day.
Her friend Serab Levent, also from Brighton, started a fundraiser to hold a memorial for Sarah.
It started on January 18 and took only four days to reach the £400 target. It is currently at £1,467.
Serab told The Argus: "The main thing for us now is for the memorial to be a happy thing.
"We want it to be like our nights out with Sarah. We loved going out to Brighton pubs and seeing local bands together.
"It will be at a venue we used to go to and we will play her favourite music."
The memorial event will taken place on Friday
Any excess donations will be split between Brighton Women's Centre, where Sarah used to volunteer, and Cancer Research UK.
Writing on the fundraising page, Serab thanked donors.
She wrote: "We can't quite fathom that we're writing this, to be honest, but Sarah deserves the most beautiful send-off imaginable.
"Sarah was the most giving, selfless person anyone has ever had the pleasure of meeting and we want to match the unforgettable times she's given us with a memorial dedicated to honouring her existence and celebrating her 29 years on this planet.
"Nothing we do could match the joy she brought to our lives or will bring her back."t65v
Suddenly and Rare!
People generally don’t die “suddenly” from cancer.
Prolly a Leftwing attempt to conflate the real vax SADS with the ordinary, however unfortunate, transitions from illness to death.
The question these nonsense posters never want to answer:
Did more young people die in 2022 or in 2020?
Spoiler - it was 2020 by a lot.
sometimes they do, not like overnight but I’ve known of people who discovered they had stage 4 cancer and were dead within a month or two.
Maybe we could have an International Obituary sub-forum, any death, anywhere in the world, would be eligible.
There are still plenty of excess deaths in people under the age of 50 in many developed countries.
Attributing all of those excess deaths to the “clot shots” a foolish strawman, but attributing zero is something more akin to state propaganda. It’s interesting that this is framed as an either/or proposition. Who benefits from that, is what I’d like to know.
That pics surprising
Do you have a link?
Some posters are angels of death apparently, fixated on it. People die every day, young and old, healthy or not, and the constant fixation on death is NOT healthy.
Many on here are going to be crushed.
They do when their blood stream runs out of sugar.
As it says…it’s rare. The cancer itself was rare.
35 years ago Annie, a friend of mine went to her dentist for a regular cleaning and checkup. The hygienist cleaned her teeth and Annie’s gums began to bleed a bit. The bleeding got worse and the dentist was alerted. He packed her gums with cotton but Annie vomited from the swallowed blood. An MD in the same office building was called and he sized up the situation as a 911 call.
The got Annie to the hospital where she died three days later. The diagnosis was a rare for of leukemia. How long she had it no one could tell.
What, do you have a Google alert set for “died suddenly” or something?
And that doesn't include people who died from COVID-19?
I have never actually seen anyone claim that more people died in 2022, than 2020.
The leukemia caused her to bleed out from her gums? Scary.
No, but did I do something wrong?
They do if they have no immune system left.
Prove it.
