None given—VIDEO

TOPICS: History; Miscellaneous; Science
KEYWORDS: conservatism; darwinism; leftism; woke
I just discovered this man yesterday and he seems brilliant. A sort of Darwin resurrectionist he proposes Conservatives are not only created they are bred by selective pressures. So is true if the radical left these “spiteful mutants” are being bred in increasing numbers by western welfare states.

His correlation between leftism and ugliness is spot on as far as I’m concerned. I have noticed the sheer ugliness of most people on commercials these days. It’s leaked somewhat into movies as well. I’m sick to death of people, some of who are insectile ugly, being shoved forward, usually in close up, for the point of selling me something. I saw an Oil of Olay commercial last night that, if the actress shown is an example of its effectiveness, you can damn well keep.

Thanks for posting. Interesting ideas.

A Darwinian perspective on culture.

Well the thing to me is it answers so many questions about the why of political /social aspects of our decline.
And it’s a universal explanation independent of race, language, culture to some degree. Any group of people is made up of a collection of genes..they can degrade or improve over time based on selective pressures of the environment.

A Darwinian perspective on culture.

Actually, it's more of a rational/logical perspective on Woke culture than a Darwinian one.

Darwinism may have been disproved because of a lack of transitional fossils (and doubted for other reasons), but the effects on our species of the survival of children who would, in previous generations, not have survived is much more than theory, Darwinian or otherwise.

It's a simple fact.

Our species is weakened when weaker children--physically and mentally weaker--grow up and procreate.

I not passing judgment...just stating a fact.

Now there are arguments that survival by weaker children takes and/or produces a greater strength of character and determination, so that is a countervailing element to consider.

“Now there are arguments that survival by weaker children takes and/or produces a greater strength of character and determination, …”

Yes if the weakness is physical but the mind is otherwise possessed of the beneficial attributes. The weakness the author is talking about is mental/moral. We are literally surrounded by people who’d starve to death if we did not pay the taxes we work to pay. These are people who are attacking the order that allows them to attack the order, if that makes any sense.

He far exaggerates the rate of mutational drift. Even if this had some truth to it, many centuries would have to pass before becoming apparent. It’s also an unnecessary theory; social evolution can far outpace the genetic kind.

Good points.

Perhaps I was being too general, but when he repeatedly states “we were selecting for” certain traits, I assumed he meant a Darwinian selection in principle.

I’m not prepared to argue whether or not Darwinian selection is the way we came to exist. (In fact, I don’t see any conflict in believing that both intelligent design and Darwinian selection are at play.)

Regarding your last statement, many have been brainwashed into thinking “diversity is good,” which makes no sense unless one considers context (e.g. would diversity in IQ have made the Manhattan Project more successful?). Please note that I’m not at all saying we should “kill off the weak.” I’m only pointing out the lack of logic in some of the things our culture now holds as “truth.”

Not only does it make sense, it is beautiful in its clarity.

The professor did, IIRC, correlate physical weakness with mental weakness. He imparted so damn much information that I can't remember exactly how he arrived at that conclusion.

As I said upthread, there is a countervailing point to be made and that is that the survival of mentally and physically weaker humans can, on occasion, result in some highly desirable(?) characteristics. I use my own mom as an example. She had a very bad case of polio as a child and was not expected to survive. What that polio produced in her was a determination that was truly rare. Even when she finally died at 94, her hospice workers dubbed her "the woman who wouldn't die" because she just wouldn't give up the ghost, spending weeks in a semi-coma without food or water.

I don’t agree with that part about mutational drift. For sure social outlooks, behaviors, trends and opinions etc occur rapidly.

We are not speaking of random mutations leading to a new species here. That’s takes millennia. We are talking of the selection and concentration of already existing genes to create basically a new breed.

Such as in selecting traits to get a new breed of dog: from breeding business.com:

“ To create a new dog breed, a dog breeder must establish a set of clearly measurable and visible traits known as the breed standard. It is a list of characteristics that formally describe the breed to an audience. The breeder needs to build up the new dog breed over several generations, generally taking decades. ”.

A new breed of dog is still a dog, can mate and reproduce with other breeds. Yet anyone with even a slight knowledge of nature knows breeds can have pronounced differences in size, height, temperament, intelligence etc.

When was the last time anyone heard of a pack of well fed and treated Golden Retrievers turning on their owners, killing then eating them (answer never)? I can think of 2 examples in the last year or 2 where that happened to Pits.

Our species is weakened when weaker children--physically and mentally weaker--grow up and procreate.

Welfare enables underclass women to have lots of kids, while middle class women have few or none.

In the past, poor women would would go to work helping to raise the kids of the middle class.

“…many have been brainwashed into thinking “diversity is good,” “

What they mean by “diversity” are things non racists don’t look at or particularly notice that THEY notice and can’t stop thinking about.

There were some Russians who decided to breed for a docile fox. They got something that looks a lot like a dog.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SycjyD0nB7k

It just took about 10 generations.

What we are seeing in our ghettos is the reverse process, where the most aggressive and violent are the ones most likely to breed.

I didn’t look at the link yet but I saw a scientific American frontiers (or some such) special on that. I found it amazing.

One surprising discovery was by selecting for behavior (they killed the foxes off that bit and were aggressive) the intelligence went up in the resulting generations!!! So apparently some of the genes that code for behavior also control intelligence!!! Which explains a lot of what we see today with violence and lower intelligence of many criminals..

I find a lot of hope in that study because it suggests all we have to do to reverse Declining IQ is simply execute, sterilize or imprison violent law breaking individuals (to the point they can’t reproduce). Which we should be doing anyway IMHO.
