Several states, including New York and California, are barring the purchase of gas-powered vehicles. Many of those same states did not consider that adjusting for the change would involve producing more electricity.”
Why not? The experts have been telling them this for years!

I don’t think anyone really has any electric car who does not have a faster charging system than this. Even a Volt would be annoying on a 120 line.

They’ll have to do better than that. The Dems LOVE killing fetuses.

It would be nice to know how far this largest battery fully charged will take this vehicle before it runs out of juice.
To: Red Badger
If you do the math, at 110 volts and 20 amps, a full charge on 250KW would take 113.6364 hours or about 4.73 days.
However... That assumes 100% efficiency of the equipment used to charge the battery. I doubt the process is more than 85% efficient. It may be less. 85% efficiency would yield a charging time of 133.7 hours or 5.57 days.
I’ll check on cost per kw/hr and figure out the cost.

An EV in snow country... wait until this moron figures out that batteries don’t work so well when it’s cold out.

As a side note, can that vehicle get into an accident and not be totaled, because it would cost more to repair than its worth?

5 days is optimistic. With a 110 outlet and that snow he’ll be staying even with battery loss due to the cold. The EV uses some juice just sitting there, unless it goes into “sleep mode” after being unused for several days.
Get a 220 volt, 50 amp line minimum.
