I was surprised to learn something recently about the topic of this thread.
A friend of mine reported that he tried some locally bought (at a smoke shop) delta 8 gummies. Though delta 8 is a supposedly milder form with delta 9 being the regular, stronger stuff, my friend reported to me that, after 1 gummie (100mg), he was too stoned to drive (he was at home though). This guy also said he hasn't smoked a joint in many years and never takes even over-the-counter drugs unless his doctor insists. He said he ate this gummie more as a lark than because he thought would actually feel anything. He described his experience as possibly a little too "strong."
The bottom line from this report is that pot is now basically legal in 30 states...even in some states with very strict pot laws. This means that anyone can waltz into a smoke shop and walk away with a container of completely legal potent ingestibles.
Do youse guys know anything about this? What are your thoughts?
Friend of mine said her elderly mother started “using” stuff from the gas station, and it at least makes her a nicer person, LOL. But, and I quote, she said about her mother, “That Delta 8, holy cow!” In my mind, I was saying, yeah and she’s old and driving around town like that.
That depends on where you live in the south that’s simply not true I’m 65
I’d say 75% of the people I know smoke pot and they are all conservative
According to one of the people i took care of — look up the phrase couch lock.
Same here with my workplace. I suppose one could mount a lawsuit, but who wants that hassle? I’ll just wait until I retire - if I can ever afford to.
I smoke marijuana daily from 71 to 8485 and I manage to graduate high school and get a college degree etc. and work and all that stuff and relationships with women ..you name it ..a fairly normal life I was just stoned for most of it but I have seen marijuana make people lazy couch potatoes
Alcohol on the other hand in my immediate family and extended family and friends has at times been devastating and affects everybody
People here on free republic still associate marijuana with left-wing hippies
which is just not the case where I live in the south
alcohol is far more dangerous and has far more implications in our culture than marijuana does
I’d be in favor of a prohibition of hard liquor but I realized it would never work I don’t like alcohol although I enjoy the taste of most alcohol and I do not like how it makes people act it has the potential for destruction
But it’s use is accepted basically worldwide except Muslim countries were they still drink just on the down low
People are going to alter their reality one way or another I believe they always have once they figured out how to do it
I’ve used the legal gummies available in my state. The only use I’ve made of them is to sleep and relieve pain.
There’s a formula known as Rick Simpson Oil or RSO. It is specifically concocted to deal with pain, everything from my mildly painful arthritis to cancer. It isn’t perfect and I use it rarely, maybe once every month or two. Compared to opiates though, it is far less scary and has few side effects.
I awake from 7-8 hours of restful sleep a bit groggy. A big mug of coffee and I’m clear headed again.
“And candy for the kids as well.! Lets all get stoned.”
It’s “Everybody must get stoned”
BINGO!
Which is typical of Andy Beshear. He has written an executive order that is in direct violation of Kentucky legislative law. In other words he can’t do that legally. But he is a typical despotic Democrat.
He does this knowing that it’s illegal and also knowing that will take months and months to work through the courts. Plus the Kentucky Supreme Court is very leftist and generally supports anything that King Andy does regardless of its legality or constitutionality
A high population is a compliant population. That being said cannabis and hemp have legit medical uses. But granted, it is used mostly just for people to get high. Delta 8 skirts around the laws by not being active decarbed THC and is just below “hot” levels of thc.
Highly recommended for migraine sufferers, of which I am one. Once the eye halos start a few drags from a THC vape and it vanishes in minutes. Otherwise I am laid up all day. And I have personally witnessed the effect CBD (does not get you high) has on epilepsy.
“ can’t get back to sleep.”
I complained to my boss 20 odd years ago
of that problem and she told me to buy a supplement.
It’s one pill, but it has calcium, magnesium and zinc in it.
You can get it at any drugstore like CVS.
It works like a charm.
If I forget to take it for a couple of weeks
I will take two, but I do try to take one every night before bed.
Stay away from flipping weed. That’s my thoughts.
Funny, I take a calcium, magnesium, and zinc pill every day in the daytime. Never fall asleep. I wonder which one you’re taking at night.
avoid turning on a light when you awaken.
I think it is in this video, but studies show that melatonin levels crash if you turn on the lights in the middle of the night and don’t return to previous levels when asleep.
Great video.

I don’t turn on a light. There is a barely noticeable night light to light the path, but I pretty much have the path memorized, even in the dark. The good nights are when I don’t wake up at all. I’ve been a light sleeper my whole life. I use white noise machines to help too. It’s just a little bothersome, but enough to want remedies. I do thank you for your tips. I’m sure they will be helpful.
May you find restful sleep =o)
