This guy was super dynamic back in the day. A world class athlete with all the dance shows he put on night after night. There are indications that he performed at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

He was at one time the most famous dancer on the planet. But the cost of that was extreme. In what would normally be retirement/enjoyment time for us he had constant pain in his feet and legs (the same happens to NFL QBs).

I really felt sorry for what happened to him, even if he did it to himself.

He put Irish dance and tap in general on the world map - forever.

I enjoy watching them. Flatly in his heyday was quite an entertainer and talented showman.

We saw his “Riverdance” show in San Francisco maybe 40 years ago. It was really spectacular and you are right — he was an amazing athlete. As were all the dancers in the show. It was so energetic that it left us breathless. I could not imagine doing one such show, much less night after night.

I hate reading about all these cases of “sudden aggressive cancer.” So many doctors are blaming you-know-what.

Absolutely incredible life. The toll his career in dancing has taken upon his body is crushing.

My wife and I traveled to Los Angeles to see the live Riverdance show at the Pantages theater. It was first rate. Flatley and his dance productions are awesome. I hope his treatment resolves in a full recovery.
