Ram has entered the auto industry’s battle for electric truck dominance, unveiling its version of the electric pickup truck.
The Ram 1500 Revolution caused a stir of hype as it debuted at CES 2023 Thursday. Auto critics have called it “sleek, futuristic, and unlike trucks today.”

Despite being late to the game of developing an electric truck, as Ford, Rivian, and GMC are already on the road with their versions, Ram Revolution Chief Design Officer Ralph Gilles said the extra time has allowed the brand to top the field regarding “all the areas customers care about the most,” including range, towing, payload, and charging.
“It’s the difference between bringing a really good bottle of wine to a party or just crashing it late,” Gilles told the Verge. “We’re looking at outperforming competitors in every aspect.”

While the Revolution’s current design is still in the concept stage, it has drawn high praise, even some calling it a model to make “Tesla’s Cybertruck look outdated.”
“It has delivered an eyeful,” Alisa Priddle with Motortrend also noted.
The Revolution’s design currently has cameras in place of side mirrors, doors that swing open in opposite directions, and an interior design that offers third-row jump seats. The electric truck will also reportedly be able to charge at a rate of 350 kilowatts and add 100 miles of range in 10 minutes.

"Everything you see from now on will be a direct descendant of this,” Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr. also said.
Ram plans to launch the new Revolution electric pickup truck in 2024.
POS.
Look like a good truck for city guys to make trips to the gay bar...
If it was Elon who said that, guaranteed it will never happen.
He’s also said the Roadster would literally fly with thrusters and the glass on his semis would withstand a nuclear blast.
Wondered what that was.
[Will this be a “daily driver”?]
You betcha. I ain’t building my old cars for my health or to be garage queens. Also daily drive a 57 Bel Air and hopped up 67 Camaro.
[My pickup is a 1937 Chev 1/2 ton. I have a 1957 235ci six mated to a 700R4 and a 12” posi. I plan to keep it til I die.]
We may look stupid, but we can see the cliff the Green Dems are driving us over. Our vehicles will be on the road, hopefully with family members, 100 years from now while the Teslas will be recycled pop cans.
They’re well on their way - the stock is down 70% from its high.
I’d rather have a ‘69 Chevy half ton like I had before.
So far, everyone of these electric trucks have come in at YUGE $$$ to buy.
Who do they think the’yre marketing these for?
Ain’t us rednecks, country boys, ranchers, small farm farmers or workmen, that’s for dang sure.
Wealthy ignorant liberals......................
I have a 5.5’ bed in my Tundra. I also have a utility trailer that I use all the time. And I bought the truck so I could haul a horse trailer (with horses).
I don’t need to haul 6,000 pounds often, but when I do, I do! 10,000 pounds of towing capacity gives me some slop to play with. But it isn’t a work truck for me. It is a tow something truck. I used to tow the utility trailer with a Nissan XTerra and the Tundra is SOOOO much better at it!
“The U.S. automakers keep cranking out those electric Edsels.”
Somebody should electrify an old Edsel. They could call it an eEdsel.
I’m sorry.
Why anyone would trust an EV truck made by a company that has a track record of frames cracking is beyond me.
My Ram 1500 will go from Abilene, Texas to El Paso with a ton in the back, 453 miles. Without the ton it will do in excess of 500 miles. What will the electric Ram do, particularly in the winter with cold batteries and the heater on in the cab?
I have nothing against electric vehicles when they can deliver the same performance as gasoline and diesel powered at the same price.
I can fill that Ram up with Gasoline in El Paso in about 5 minutes and return home with no stops.
So,do you own some hydrogen wells?🤨
You’re going to need a couple a hundred of those to charge your EV pickup in any reasonable time.🙄
No your not.😏
