You are responsible for having your hands on the wheel and in your control at all times.
Period.

The multiple crashes by Tesla are crushing investment into all companies that are developing autonomous vehicles. The technology isn’t quite there.

Does anyone have a countdown clock as to when 1 or 2 EV-fanbois on this site will appear and tell everyone how great EVs are, this was operator error, how powerful they are, how far they can go, how Musk is the most awesomest person on the planet, how Musk builds empires, blah blah etc etc blah blah?

In before the EV lovers explain how this is a feature not a bug and us mouth breathers don’t have the IQ to understand it.

“Aglitch in Tesla Inc’s (NASDAQ: TSLA) Full-Self Driving (FSD) caused an eight-vehicle crash on San Francisco’s Bay Bridge, ”
So are we all ready for the self driving trucks?
Yeah, can’t wait for a driverless 18 wheeler careening down the interstate at night.

I trust the self driving on this battery car about as much as the government but here is the rest of the story:
“ The police report noted that the Tesla vehicle made an unsafe lane change and was slowing to a stop which led to another vehicle ramming it resulting in a cascade of crashes, according to Reuters.”

I’m skeptical. More people are not paying attention anymore. I work the LEO and people have told me since the lock down accident rates and what not are up.

Hopefully the Tesla system has the ability to record when the vehicle is in self-driving mode and when it isn't. I would be curious if this were the fault of the Tesla software, the driver, or some other driver.
It would be rather convenient for a driver to get themselves into trouble, then flip into self-driving mode in the hopes of bailing them out. Or turn it on *after* an accident.

Nobody is ready for EV’s. The world hasn't even come up with a way to power them.
So far, I see the attempts at being super modern, super failures. None of it is impressive.
We have seemed to excel in evil things that bring about self annihilation and human misery.

Anyone who has owned and used PeeCees for any length of time, and STILL allows a PeeCee to drive his car, and maybe get his ass KILLED when it BSODs, deserves the paperwork involved. (Assuming he survives.)
Once a car on “Full Auto-Pilot” gets RAMMED at speed, the A.I. won’t be able to control its path.
And you’re along for the ride atop the damaged Battery Bomb when it all finally comes to rest.
Best of luck to ya!
