Chelsia Blackmon’s attorney filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on November 16, saying that her client was wrongfully terminated, Business Insider reported.
According to the complaint obtained by Fox Business, Blackmon was hired after she passed all the training and compliance protocols, including being able to buckle the seat belt in the jump seat. The suit noted that she had worked for several flights, including multiple Spirit Airlines Airbus 319 flights beforehand.
On September 3, 2021, Blackmon was assigned to work on an Airbus 319 flight; however, she could not buckle herself into the jump seat using the seatbelt. She was then forced to deplane.
An investigation was held and she was sent a letter on September 27 asking her to appear in person on or about October 8 to demonstrate she could fit into a jump seat, the complaint reads. At the meeting, she was again unable to buckle herself with the seat belt.

Strangely enough, her picture seems to be completely absent from the internet.
I wonder why that might be.
My wife used to work for Alaska Airlines. One time they fired around five people simultaneously for various, and relevant, reasons. A big one was that if you were flying “standby” and unable to make it back for your shift it was grounds for termination. One of them did it several times and there were other, um, “problems” with this employee. In fact, I was amazed they had not fired her a long time ago.
Anyway, of the five employees fired, she was one of the two that was also black. Hilariously, she sued for racial discrimination.
I always find this sort of thing funny because back in 1965 my parents were trying to rent out our house and had placed an ad in the papter. One night they went out to an appointment and told me that if anyone called about the house and they sounded black, to tell them the house was rented.
I was in 6th grade and cognisant to ask them why. This was when “job corps” had just entered our area. My dad told me, and I paraphrase, that if we rented to white deadbeats it would be easy to evict them, but if we rented to black deadbeats, it would be very difficult and expensive to evict them.
I’ve carried that concept regarding government interference in business with me my entire life. FWIW, that mindset in general is also why I never considered going into business for myself. I don’t like dealing with the government. It’s stressful.

I guess she was never told that if you get too fat for the job, you lose the job. Of course there is no responsibility on her part to keep her weight down. It is other people’s fault.

Someone in HR needs to be fired, they hired this blob. I doubt she gained all the weight, after being hired.
I detect several warning signs, that should have been picked up at the first interview.
That’s always the guy I see coming down the aisle. And I’m thinking, “Please don’t be seated next to me. Please don’t be seated next to me. Oh crap!”
