The parents of one of the University of Idaho massacre victims say the killer was 'sloppy' and left a 'mess' of evidence behind - but bungling cops, who are yet to identify a suspect or a motive, are blaming the Thanksgiving break for their lack of leads.
Kaylee Goncalves, 21, was one of the four students brutally knifed to death in the slaying. Her parents say police told them the crime scene 'will take a lot of time to process'.
Kaylee's roommates Madison Mogen, 21, and Xana Kernodle, 20, were also stabbed to death on November 13. Xana's freshman boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20, was also killed.
Steve and Kristi Gonclaves told Fox News: 'This wasn't like a pinpoint crime. This person was sloppy.' Steve added that the killer 'made a mess there, and they're going to have to go through that point by point.'
As the investigation moves into its second week, questions continue to mount about the unsolved quadruple murders, which appears to have cops stumped as they scramble for any more information.
Last week, Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson said the Thanksgiving break had hampered the investigation because many potential witnesses are students who have already left the small college town.

Kaylee’s sister says that was the norm for Kaylee to call and call and turn to phone to someone else to keep calling until the person answered her.
That house had been a well known party house for many years. How could parents agree to rent such a place for their daughters. Add to that, their daughters sleeping in a room with a sliding door and if that doesn’t raise the risk, knowing half the campus likely has the door lock pass code.

Those guys do not get involved in the retail side of the business.
The crime scene was a mess and there was so much blood that it ran outside and down the foundation. Yet, someone on one of the unharmed roommates’ phone called 911 reporting an unconscious person.
In general, the police are bumbling morons. They trample around a crime scene and destroy evidence before they have a clue as to what is even the crime.
Picking up shell casings is about the top level at which they operate.
A guy died in one of my apartments a few years ago and before anyone had a clue that it was an overdose, a half dozen cops were wandering all over the place and one of them even used the bathroom and flushed the toilet.
Turns out it didn’t matter but they had no idea at the time.
I do not find that unusual, as the kids woke up hungover and would not immediately wrap their heads around that fact that their roommates were murdered.

Neither seemed emotional while talking about the murder. No way in the world if that was me would be on TV a couple days after my daughter was murdered, I’d be out looking for the bastard.

Unsurprisingly, the Idaho State Police are supporting the investigation.
Disagree. MS-13 arrived in my small town chasing one of their dealers. The enforcer knocked down a door at the last known location of the person he was seeking. Scared the crap out of the guy in the room who was not the person sought. My wife took the call in police dispatch. The MS-13 individual was apprehended. SE Idaho.
Parents need to keep their mouths shut.

IMHO, she goes a little overboard on the speculation at times, but still hustles to get the info out there.

That generation is so saturated and immersed in weasel wording, euphemisms, etc that they are simply not capable of uttering the words, “my roomate is dead”, or “my roomate has been murdered”. They are not even able to look at someone and be comfortable saying that is a male, that is a female.
