The parents of one of the University of Idaho massacre victims say the killer was 'sloppy' and left a 'mess' of evidence behind - but bungling cops, who are yet to identify a suspect or a motive, are blaming the Thanksgiving break for their lack of leads.
Kaylee Goncalves, 21, was one of the four students brutally knifed to death in the slaying. Her parents say police told them the crime scene 'will take a lot of time to process'.
Kaylee's roommates Madison Mogen, 21, and Xana Kernodle, 20, were also stabbed to death on November 13. Xana's freshman boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20, was also killed.
Steve and Kristi Gonclaves told Fox News: 'This wasn't like a pinpoint crime. This person was sloppy.' Steve added that the killer 'made a mess there, and they're going to have to go through that point by point.'
As the investigation moves into its second week, questions continue to mount about the unsolved quadruple murders, which appears to have cops stumped as they scramble for any more information.
Last week, Latah County Prosecutor Bill Thompson said the Thanksgiving break had hampered the investigation because many potential witnesses are students who have already left the small college town.

As of Sunday, Moscow Police Department Chief James Fry said that more than 640 tips had been received and investigated.
Just keeps getting weirder...

Murder victim Kaylee Goncalves, 21, (right) and her ex-boyfriend Jack DuCoeur, 26, (left). Kaylee and her friend Maddie called Jack at least seven times in the hours before they were killed
The police are supposed to hold back details so only the real killers will know about them.
Still, publicity seekers and mentally ill people call in tips to be sifted out.
Killer could be the ex or another student.
“...say that the crime scene was a ‘mess’ and the killer was ‘sloppy’”
That’s a very odd comment about a crime scene where four people were stabbed to death.
Please don't tell me this is news. Shouldn't this have been a next day task, at the latest?
I fear this PD may not be up to the task.
A friend had his sister murdered in a well-lighted, busy parking lot, (across from the defense plant where we worked) - what should have been an easy crime to solve, 30 years later they still have no clue.
(Word is they sullied the crime scene evidence collection, tripping all over themselves while failing to follow up a dozen leads. It happens, appartently)
That’s odd.
On another thread someone stated one of the females had an OnlyFans page. Is that true?
an OnlyFans page?
I don’t know what that is.................
I read where that was a fake site set up after her death. But who knows.
And of course they have not gotten outside help with more expertise in this kind of thing.
Thanks.
It’s only been a week. People watch too much TV. Out reality it takes time. Evidence has to be processed, tips have to be followed up on. Just because they didn’t arrest somebody in 42 minutes doesn’t mean they aren’t going to get the person.
Seems unlikely that Moscow is a murder hotspot. I wonder if Idaho has a state police force (I think most states do).
Well either is an illegal or Hunter high on crack...... only two reasons after 640 leads we could not have the ...... Donuts, did someone say DONUTS!
Here’s something I found curious....
“And [she] said, ‘Mom, I’ll be home on Tuesday, and I’m going to take you out to breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it’s all on me, all on me, and we’ll celebrate your birthday.’”
Don’t look on a work computer.
Usually various forms of girls undressing all the way to them “doing things” to themselves.
MS-13/Cartel hit.
Zero murders for this police force in 6 years.
State police and FBI are involved.
