Test screenings for Disney’s Indiana Jones 5 have been “disastrous,” reports World of Reel’s Jordan Ruimy.
Ruimy has also heard that “rumors indicate that Disney is in a panic over the screenings and that they’re worried the movie will bomb.”

Another nail in Disney’s coffin?
Yes, and they insist on putting them into their own burial box!
G’bye cold turkey. Walt must be really proud./s
Kathleen Kennedy ruining Star Wars is one example of many of movie / TV / streaming executives butchering classics.
It will be a great time for Disney investors to sell short. Thanks for the heads up.
If they turn Indy into a girl, it SHOULD bomb!
perhaps they’ll do better if they try an indiana jones who is a midget QWERTY+B .... current press secretary comes to mind ... certainly checks lots of boxes ...
I don’t care. I won’t watch their stupid disney nonsense anyway.
That might not fit with Disney’s family image.
Have you ever heard of the Darth Jar Jar theory?
Well, I got another one for you that may be related to the above theory and I call it how Howard the Duck ruined the Star Wars prequels.
I don’t know how old you are but after Return was in the can it is obvious that despite great strides in making space battles the real effects needed to do non-human aliens was gonna be a challenge.
I reason that Lucas chose Howard because he could use it to greatly advance the animatronic etc capabilities of his studio in preparation of the prequels that would need much more than had been used to date.
Had Howard not flopped Lucas would have been well positioned to make what became The Phantom Menace, only without advanced 3D character CGI. As a consequence Jar Jar would not, could not have been so buffoonish ... and he would have also benefitted from audiences that were not as jaded and spoiled.
But Howard flopped, Lucas had to sell off part of his studio to Jobs, and the prequels had to wait for much more advanced computer animation and, unfortunately, an audience that was more demanding.
Ugh...why?
What do they have against Harrison Ford?
Far worse. I would say 95% of everyone inside were laughing..unintentionally. My producer bud beside me couldn’t take it anymore after 20 minutes lol.
EVERY major studio starts off with private screenings for test (paid) audiences almost a year before release. It’s mostly secret. They will judge it by the reaction. Right Before covid 2020 , one of my buds was on the Maverick screening, and mostly positive. He said it will make lots of money but I disagreed. Good thing I was wrong there haha
There’s a funny weirdo on YouTube named Dicktor Van Doomcock who broke this story about a year ago, and Chapek is looking to either shelve the movie or dump it on Disney Plus. It may be the last bit of ammo that Chapek needs to get rid of Kathleen Kennedy, now that his contract has been renewed for 3 more years.
Big fan of Doomcock although who ever has been feeding him rumors about Kathleen Kennedy’s standing within Disney has been consistently wrong. Based on Doomcock’s reporting Kennedy should have been outsted a long time ago. But it looks like Chapek, for whatever reason, is going to let Kennedy not only destroy Star Wars but also Indiana Jones.
That seems to be the best hope is Chapek has the guts to place the movie into storage wherever the Ark is stored, write off the loss against taxes, and finally kill Rasputin Kennedy.
This Phoebe whatever I only heard of her from osmosis about some Amazon show with Flea in the title.
I would pay to see that.
His sources have been consistently right on the Indy feedback, since the test screenings have been a disaster from what I’ve heard.
I think an Indy abomination that tops the backlash to She-Hulk, Rings of Power, and all the Star Trek crap combined would be enough to push her out for good.
It’s just too bad this all had to happen. I was open to the Young Indy meets Old Indy stuff, but as it stands now I’m not going to see the movie, and I’m probably the biggest Indy fan in the world since age 11.
Other than a few high profile firings of some execs, I think that is far from proven, although I hope it is true.
Whatever one can say about Chapek, he ain’t Elon.
One thing he was right about though, the Board did renew Chapek’s contract for another three years, and they’re supposedly behind him on this anti-woke stuff where he’s trying to get Disney out of identity politics.
Remember they tried to replace Indiana Jones with someone named Shia Labeouf in the last movie. He did not look the part anymore then the woman they want now as Indiana Jones.
I suspect the problem isn't the ending.
I bet those gutless wonders at Disney have kowtowed to their Deep State masters and churned out yet another woke piece of crap.
Well, we may not get a vote that counts at the ballot box anymore, but we still do at the box office.
Get woke, go broke, Disney.
