Don't let the elites guilt you into impoverishing yourself for the sake of global warming (or COVID).
Some years ago, I visited an aquarium in Monterey, California. At first glance, it seemed like an interesting place, but sadly, I'm one of those people who read the entire sign explaining each exhibit.
After reading a few signs, I realized that each was a composition using a few words to describe the critter in the tank and progressing into a sad description of how man's actions — or even just man's presence on the planet — was causing trouble for the creature on display. In short, it was one guilt trip after another, until I finally got the message and stopped reading the signs.
If it had been just one aquarium, it wouldn't be worth mentioning. But this theme is repeated in many places these days. It is so pervasive that years ago I nicknamed it the Guilt Trip Travel Agency.
My father taught me many valuable things. Perhaps the most important of all of them was his statement that "you should never trust anyone who tries to motivate you using fear."
If you study the dynamics of the COVID "panic-demic," you will see that many people in high places effectively used fear to motivate and control large populations whom they deemed too ignorant to think and act for themselves. When fear was not effective enough, they used COVID "passports," job loss, shame, and restricted access to beat the people into submission. All of these things worked well if they could play on the ignorance of the population they wished to suppress.
Eventually, fear failed them because the vaccines were neither effective nor safe. Guilt ("if you don't, you're putting yourself and all other people at unnecessary risk") failed them

That’s why I have such a problem with the RC church.

Your biggest problem is that you know nothing about the RC church.

It’s the protestant’s who teach that if you don’t “accept Jesus” by the time you die, that’s it. You go straight to hell to be gruesomely tortured for all eternity.
Catholic doctrine does not. They believe that there is a time after death when you will face Jesus and have to make a choice. You will have FULL knowledge and COMPLETE understanding of the consequences of your choice to accept him on not.
Which one seems to be trying to motivate you by fear?
Thank goodness no one ever tries to do that in the ‘conservative’ community.
Have you ever visited Ft. Sumter? SAME type of verbage about slavery and how bad the South was.

The Protestant vs Catholic argument doesn’t interest me at all. I grew up in the catholic church and went to catholic school until jr high. Whatever doctrine points you may want to make are not going to really influence me a lot in the face of what I personally experienced and what I know has happened to a lot of people.

Let me add that I have been and currently am being stalked by some members of the catholic church who make no pretense of being normal folks who just want to promote Gd’s word - they are just out-and-out gangsters, human traffickers, and drug dealers. They SAY they’re Catholic - who am I to argue? Those who start off saying they’re catholics are violent people who inject fear and intimidation into every human contact.
Some of the people who are stalking me - right now, at 4:00 in the morning - they’re having a noisy drug party and yelling things at my house - are people I went to grade school with. My mom tried to tell me at some point in the early 1990s that these guys were stalking me and moved out here to Colorado from the East for that purpose - I kind of didn’t pick up on what she was saying and I guess she was afraid to give me too many details. They’re still after me. Some of them are members of the gab.ai website and they’re promoting the idea that Ru$$ia is where the Roman Catholic church is going to live and thrive. Meanwhile, the Ru$$ians are just like “Heh, heh, heh! FOOLS!”
A “Catholic” blogger/writer/commenter has threatened me personally - you can tell he feels quite safe in doing this - from his blog and another from his podcast. They seem very unhappy with me and threats of horrible death (”you’ll go down like Madeline Murray O’Hare”) are very standard.
The “rule of law” here in the US doesn’t seem to come into the picture.

The Catholics love torture, poverty, slavery, blood, and death. This isn’t just something I read - it’s something I’ve lived. There is a good handful of posts on this board about the things they’re going to do to people who pi$$ them off and don’t accept their authority. “If only we could return to the good old days of the Dark Ages, where we could acquire properties simply by getting the bishop to write us a letter/have entire families and villages put to death by being burned alive, boiled in oil, flayed, or quartered!”
“Separation of Church and State” exists for a reason.
I tried to get involved in Catholic Charities back in the early 2000s after my band broke up and I was about to lose my house. Haha, that just made the problem a WHOLE LOT WORSE. “Hi, Kristi! We just bought a bunch of properties in your neighborhood and now you have no choice but to HELP US FIND HOMES FOR ALL THESE ILLEGAL ALIENS.”
By the way, I stopped supporting abortion on demand a long time ago. I started thinking that abortion was a crime a long time ago. It was not because of you catholics threatening me and stalking me - it was because someone patiently explained to me how much Roe v Wade stinks and how bad it’s been for the USA, the Constitution, and the rule of law. I accepted that and began to oppose abortion, although I still ascribed to the “clump of cells” argument for some time after that - a few years ago I started to have a change of heart about that, too. I started to feel sorry for the infants, of course - and feeling very terrible about the whole thing. I feel sorry for women who seek abortion as a solution to a problem, too. Just being honest, although I know that matters to you not at all, lol.
Now Mr K (not the one on this forum), who was a staunch abortion-supporting Democrat when I first moved in here opposes abortion, too - and not just because it’s sh1tty, illogical jurisprudence. He started to feel sorry for the babies and sees it as a sin, when - believe me - he did not in any way, shape, or form feel that way before.
Nobody’s stalking, threats, or intimidation caused me to change my mind. In fact, I’m fairly certain that the stalking, intimidation, and threats hardened my heart to a significant degree, to the point that infants were the enemy, too.
Not going to tell you what has happened to some members of my family and others I know who never put up any kind of fuss or talked back to these guys, the “catholics” at all. They did what was expected and even though NONE of them will admit to believe in Gd anymore, they obey and follow blindly out of FEAR.
I guess that never bothers a catholic, though - so what if you don’t believe in Gd anymore because of all the stupidity and horror that you’ve faced? - you’re OBEYING.
I was confirmed by the Archbishop of Louisville, Kentucky at the age of 8 or 9. By the way. We had to go to catechism class AFTER SCHOOL for days and days to learn the teachings that we were supposed to know in order to be confirmed. I was thrilled but you should have seen how many kids were there at the confirmation. I’ll bet the archbishop’s hand was sorer than our faces were after slapping that many kids.
And of course: The ROMAN Catholic church was started by the same guys who brought you the crucifixion. They appropriated the relics of Jesus’s horrible death and got into the religion racket, though they never lost their taste for torture and oppression.
