Post-COVID-19 Fatigue Syndrome (PCFS)

Posted on 10/20/2022 6:02:22 PM PDT by ducttape45

Good evening fellow Freepers.

I wanted to make this post to see if anyone else out there, who got infected with Covid-19, has experienced Post-COVID-19 Fatigue Syndrome (PCFS). Basically, I've been experiencing fatigue, dizziness, vertigo, nausea, and like symptoms since Feb when I was hospitalized for Covid-19 and pneumonia. My doctor's office said it's just allergies but they are big time pharma endorsers and heed whatever the medical establishment tells them. Hence, I'm also looking for a new doctor (central Indiana if anyone knows of a good doctor!).

I have been researching this online but we all know how search algorithms work. They almost always take you where you DON'T want to go. I've found some articles that talk about about it, but I wanted to start a talking thread here to see if anyone has knowledge into this condition. Thanks.

I’m not sure if I have this, or that I’m just fed up with all the covid-19 šŸ‚šŸ’©.

In April of 2020 I was sick as a dog for 2 weeks, but at that time, there was no testing available and the doctors office was closed and you couldn’t go to the hospital unless you could not breathe or your lips were turning blue.

Well, I could still breathe but was VERY short of breath and exhausted, I have no doubt it was Covid, and the only diagnosis I could figure out was walking pneumonia, which I knew was viral.

It took me months to recover and almost a full year to get my wind and my strength back.

Sorry, I have no advice on what to take because I am allergic to so much that i react to virtually everything. I did however, have to push myself physically because we were in the process of remodeling and moving and I could not afford to baby myself. I don’t know if that helped or hurt, but it did force me to keep moving and get the exercise I needed.

I am fine now. Matter of fact, I have not felt this physically fit in a long time. Still have the MCAD, but that’s a whole ā€˜nother issue, so aside from that I am recovered from the illness.

I Saw Post Covid Fatigue Symdrome first hand in Europe last week. Covid rates were the highest they had been in 5 months, but everyone was completely over it, gathering in large groups, not wearing masks and were back to enjoying life.

The Idiot German Chancelor mandated N95 masks on Public transport, but the only one wearing them were sheeple and Tourists.

Anyone under 65 years old still worrying about Covid needs to get over it.

Sorry to hear of your suffering. I started getting chiropractic adjustments a couple years ago, and it seemed to cure my vertigo (not the reason I was going), within a few weeks.

Sometimes they have a free trial of a few appointments/adjustments or a GroupOn type thing. Also my medicare supplement does pay some toward the cost, and I am using accumulated funds from my HSA for the balance as of now.

If you have not looked into it, maybe try a chiropractor as an alternative.

Get a full blood screen and get tested for for diabetes or pre-diabetes.
They are finding that this can be an after effect of covid.

Sounds awful. I had CoVid in mid May but mine was just a cold. Took Paxlovid along with lysine, D3, C, zinc, quercetin, and a whole bunch of other vitamins and supplements that I’ve been using since April, 2020. Too many to list. NAC, K2, turmeric. Try to find a doctor who can help you, though I know it’s hard to trust them these days. The CoVid protocols they’ve been using have made a lot of us skeptical.

My sister did the FLCCC long haul protocol after months of feeling terrible and now feels back to normal again.

DH and I just had Covid, but it was very mild for us. I did the protocol for five days and DH did it for two. I started earlier too. The only difference is his cough lasted a few weeks and I never developed one.

I had mild Covid in January. My main symptom was fatigue. It lasted for about three weeks after everything else was long gone. My wife who was hospitalized had issues with fatigue and fog for over a month.

As for a new doctor. I would normally suggest Andy Sprunger’s group on the Northside of Indianapolis. But they are aligned with Community and Community’s and their affiliated medical groups handling of Covid was horrid. We had always held Community and their affiliates in high esteem. That changed over the last year.

In a way, I don’t feel so bad now, but on the other hand, that is very disheartening.

This has been with me since about April/May, but didn’t really know what it was until the past few weeks. A friend at work calls “adrenal fatigue,” but now I know what I got.

When I was in the hospital in Feb, they also gave me Remdesivir, and I wondered if that had anything to do with it as well. During my last visit my doc said my blood work was fine, but I also wonder if he’s lying to me. A couple of years back he said I might have prostate cancer, only to find out that he based the diagnosis on one test that was later found to be flawed, then he prescribed Remdesivir when I was in the hospital for Covid when I thought I was gonna get the monoclonal antibody treatment. Those are more reasons why I’m looking for a new doctor. Thank God you lived through your experience. Thanks for sharing.
