Liked her in the Harrison Ford film where they’re plane-wrecked and being hunted by drug lords. Mostly because she didn’t wear a bra.
Other than that, she was obviously mixed up and screwed up - like most in hollyweird. I wish her and her family peace. She may have never done or said anything that made any sense to our friends here, but she also never robbed a freight train.
She died without a will. Her boyfriend is claiming that an email was her will, but legally an email cannot be a will (in every state that I know of, a will must either be signed by the testator in the presence of two witnesses, who also must sign the will, or be entirely in the testator’s handwriting).
She may have had bank or brokerage accounts that were set up as transfer on death or joint tenants with right of survivorship, in which case they would not be part of her probate estate. Also, if she was the beneficiary of any trusts (including any trusts that she set up to avoid probate), those assets would not be part of her probate state.
Everything that is in her probate estate will end up being divided between her three children, after all of the debts, lawyers fees and other probate expenses are paid.

Wealth and fame does not bring happiness. Her life with Ellen was likely a dumpster fire.
It is not that surprising. She was 53 and was essentially a working actress and not much of a star. She did a lot of TV.
Some people are good with managing money and others are not and she certainly was not poor compared to many Americans.

She had 97 TV & movie credits since 1991 or so, some of these are for multi-episode guest roles on TV. I am a little bit suprised if she “only” has $400k.
She owed the son a lot more than $400k for naming him Homer Laffoon. Now, D’Onjatarius Laffoon — that’s a name to launch an SEC football career.
