She died without a will. Her boyfriend is claiming that an email was her will, but legally an email cannot be a will (in every state that I know of, a will must either be signed by the testator in the presence of two witnesses, who also must sign the will, or be entirely in the testator’s handwriting).
She may have had bank or brokerage accounts that were set up as transfer on death or joint tenants with right of survivorship, in which case they would not be part of her probate estate. Also, if she was the beneficiary of any trusts (including any trusts that she set up to avoid probate), those assets would not be part of her probate state.
Everything that is in her probate estate will end up being divided between her three children, after all of the debts, lawyers fees and other probate expenses are paid.
Whatever her failings were, whether she was likable or not, confused, or a good actress, she did bring life to these three humans. She did not abort them. In Hollywood, and in today's climate, that amounts to a whole lot.. It is almost heroic.
May she rest in peace, hopefully in Jesus's loving arms.
