Bush 41 got slammed for a 500pt drop in the market and they kept it up until they got Clinton in.

Yet to see a drop in restaurant prices.

Agreed. I was brought up with the mindset that if a restaurant puts "market price" next to an item, rather than a specific price, it basically means that you can't afford to buy that menu item.

That used to be for lobster and stuff like that. Now it's used for flippin' chicken wings.

The chicken rack at Aldi is often 2/3 empty and curtained off, the rest is sparse. Meat including pork and beef is sparse.

Precisely! The root cause of all inflation woes is Biden jacking around with energy. The rat bastard.

We have some in our cupboard I keep forgetting about. Now that it’s starting to get colder, it’ll be a good breakfast. Fruit, honey maple syrup……
Yum.

We live in Bread Co central. They pulled the asking for a tip thing on us in the drive through a couple years ago. I already was thinking about hating them and that did it.

Panera’s is an arrogant shithole for fools with too much fiat in their “bank.” Way too big for their sissy britches. Avoid.

Should have known that any place that offers BREAD as a side for a SANDWICH is out of its mind.

Yes the official rate hides how bad the real inflation is. What was a $16 bill at McDonalds is now $20. Much more than 8%

Egg prices soared 39.8%

A dozen eggs last year at Aldi were a dollar and change, up or down week to week—sometimes 89 cents. Eggs at Aldi this year are $2.40 or $2.50 a dozen, so far. Pound of butter $4.00.

butter on sale at $3.50 this week. I bought 4 lbs. Will keep one in the freezer.

I keep all of mine in the freezer except the current stick. I try to remember to get more out when I know I'm going to bake, or when the current stick is down to an inch or so. In a pinch, there's always the box grater for enough frozen butter to go in a recipe.

That’s a good tip! I have more room in my fridge than in my freezer, which is why I keep one pound in reserve. I seem to go through it pretty fast. I’m trying to use more olive oil these days, but I still like real butter for a lot of things.
