FT MYERS, FL — In a desperate attempt to get help for its citizens and deal with the growing humanitarian crisis in the area, a Florida town devastated by Hurricane Ian has taken the unusual step of raising the Ukrainian flag, hoping to convince Congress to send aid.
"The Ukrainian government flies this flag, and they're just swimming in billions and billions of dollars in support from the United States. We're just swimming in sewage," said Ray Valdivia, the Response Coordinator working to assess the damage in the town. "We tried going through the normal channels to get help from the government, but Biden just sent us a letter of "best wishes" that looks like it may have been written in crayon."
Though the situation across the Sunshine State has been critical since the hurricane blew through last week, Congress has maintained a keen focus on funneling astronomical amounts of taxpayer money overseas to pay the salaries of Ukrainian government officials and support American defense contractors' war efforts against Russia.
"These requests coming in from Florida are small potatoes," Nancy Pelosi slurred at her meeting with the press when asked about providing hurricane relief. "Sending money to Florida would not save the world from Russia or effectively launder the taxpayer money in any way."
At publishing time, citizens of Ft. Myers were working on using fake Ukrainian accents and inviting Hollywood celebrities to visit their devastated towns, hoping to convince the ignorant actors that they were visiting war-torn Kyiv instead.
Funny because it’s true. (It’s actually pathetic)
A bunch of people on here care more about Ukraine then all of our domestic issues.
Ukraine has a Nazi problem and are a criminal enterprise involving multiple US elected leaders and who knows how many others
Let me see if I got this straight. Biden can actually write?? 🤗🤪
Just passed the bill less than a week ago. I think there’s a lot of work going on down south. My gosh they went from 2.7 million without power to less than 700,000. That’s miraculous if you ask me. This is the best work after hurricane I’ve ever seen. Has a lot to do with the state leadership.
That’s why I don’t care about the war.
I think both sides are crap. I don’t care who wins.
I care about our domestic issues.
It matters who’s in charge.
I know utilities and contractors send their crews down to help.
I do electrical distribution design and have worked for utility companies.
It’s called the “Mutual Assistance Program”.
Sad day when the people in the US support Nazis killing Russian civilians with our weapons. So why is the US government supporting actual Nazis? We brought a lot of their top scientists over here after WW2. Did the Nazi ideology get a bit to intrenched?
I think it has more to do with globalism.
Wernher von Braun wasn’t a Nazi.
I’m not sure of the others from Operation Paperclip.
The screwball VP said no aide for whitey.
Maybe they should add an NK flag too?
Good idea. Launch a missile over Cuba too.
Definitely and I appreciate the work that you do. I totally understand that the work would never get done as quickly without the assistance of other states.
It works out better for areas that get struck hard.
Local businessmen don’t seem to care though.
We’d have hundreds of thousands out of power, and
I would get calls about when are you coming to do my job?
This for a business that isn’t open, nor is the building completed.
Thanks, Babylon Bee, for the laugh. As usual, it was humorous.
Thank you! It’s amazing how many crews are here from different places.

Which is why the MSM will rapidly pivot to some new shiny story to rag on. If the stories make Gov. DeSantis look good, there is no coverage.
It also helps if the local utility company has a clue and has kept up on normal repairs, cleared right of ways and has people worth more than a bologna sandwich.
The electric co-op I grew up with had it’s eyes on the ball. Never let ROW’s get overgrown, kept the equipment in good repair and kept their people up to snuff on training for emergencies. If we ever lost power it was unusual for it to be more than a few hours. A couple of days and they considered it catastrophic.
The electric co-op I was on for part of my first marriage was a mirror image of the above. Equipment was old and cranky, ROW’s were always overgrown and the people couldn’t be bothered to work hard. They constantly have outages that last a week or more.
Judging from the voluminous daily dose of pro Ukraine propaganda posted here, that’s true. It’s almost as if they have, as a group, an assignment agenda.
I agree with you 100%. This country is in trouble and the Biden admin isn’t doing anything to solve the very real problems we have. Florida has a lot of clean-up to do and will need help for a long time. I could care less about Ukraine or Russia right now.
