NY Counties shown in orange are where the CDC advises wearing masks indoors. Yellow counties are places in which those at high risk for severe disease should be cautious, and in green counties, indoor masking is not necessary. Photo Credit: CDC
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending mask-wearing in some New York counties for the first time in months as a result of an uptick in COVID-19 cases.
The CDC displays counties in orange, yellow, or green on a color-coded map shown in the image above to guide local residents and authorities:
As of Thursday, Sept. 12, these New York counties were in the “orange” zone:

The CDC need to be taken out back and Che’d.
Remember this when you go to the polls next month, New Yorkers.
Even though we know the masks are worthless. “Control”.
Maskholes
I wouldn’t be surprised if Escambia County (FL) is still orange, and nobody cares down here. :-)
Conservative areas.
Ans, what is that supposed to accomplish?
Only in the US and the lemmings will comply.
Cue the Not This Stuff, Again guy.
Good. New Yorkers love their masks.
What a sick joke.
It’s all those wonderful illegal ‘migrants’ they have to thank for this.
What Now America?
Be vigilant.
No, it’s just that COVID is now the flu. Illegals have little to do with this.
Karen Von Menopause must have been feeling bored and unappreciated
No indication of abnormal spiking in NY Covid deaths, nor case count (which is unreliable and not useful info in the US, unlike global where there is more consistency).
US national Covid deaths have stopped their rise and are largely flat at about 450+. This is excess vs 2019 so . . . we are pre winter and another possible surge, but even without surge this year will knock a few more months off societal life expectancy at these several hundred/day ED levels.
The global case numbers have ceased their decline. This seems to be coming from non UK Europe. Winter cometh, may not have affected UK yet.
Conclusion, nothing special is visible in the data for NY as of now.
I get the counties downstate, but honestly, Onondaga, Oswego, and Jefferson counties?
Onondaga has Syracuse, and Jefferson has Watertown, neither one a particularly big city, and otherwise, there is NOTHING there. Especially Jefferson county.
Oswego County is a welfare county and they have far more to worry about going around there than Covid.
Gotta keep those elderly GOP voters home?
