Jumped almost a dollar at our locale in a little over a week and a half. Obviously more Putin stickin’ it too us. At least that’s what one acquaintance tells us. Lowest in Reno per GasBuddy is $4.88. Waiting for someone to tell us it’s the switch from summer to winter blends.......

Yep.
SoCal here. Beginning of the week, gas at my local station was $5.19 - up recently from $5.09.
By Wednesday: $5.49.
Yesterday: $5.89.
I suspect it is over $6.00 today.
No politician here has to worry about further raising the gas tax, they know the voters here will continue to vote them in no matter what they do as long as they are Democrats.
We Californians had an initiative recently to nix the last gas tax - and voters voted it down.

near Detroit...gas prices increased 56 cents over night...any one know why?? Well prices are down from $5 a gallon here. I filled up and ONLY had to pay $4.06 /gal.
Brandon's policies almost fooled me and made me think I was getting a deal!

Refinery fire. Market pressure.
Whether it’s deliberate or not is another matter altogether.

Same thing here in WA; two stations went from $4.40 to $5.01 overnight.

A single 76 station here - arguably the lowest priced gas in the county outside of costco - rose by .40 2 weeks ago without any rhyme/reason. In comparison, costco remained at 3.99 throughout the past 2 weeks.
But we have our own bureaucracy-imposed market pressures here...

We did a quick trip to Glacier National Park last week. Left on Monday and returned on Thursday. Gas was $3.90 when we left Bonner's Ferry, Idaho on Monday and $4.20 when we returned on Thursday.
On the plus side, it doesn't matter what the price is if you are going to Glacier. We were there the last days of the season and it was slightly less crowded than usual. We hit absolutely perfect late summer / early fall weather, too. Our boat tour of Lake McDonald and a dinner in Whitefish, MT was a gift from our daughter for hosting their wedding on our property last June. We were on the next-to-last boat of the season. The hike to Avalanche Lake was wonderful and we didn't have to worry about surprising a grizzly bear because the trail was crowded.

We are in the $3.10 to $3.30 range for Regular here in NE Florida.
However, Hurricane Ian is on its way North this week. That’ll probably change prices for a while.
