I suggest watching the Werner Herzog film, “Cobra Verde”. It depicts this without reservations.

“We still have slavery in this country via the drug cartels!”

Fact!!!
If anyone doubts this, all they have to do is follow the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook. Operation Safe Streets nets at least two carloads of illegal drugs and or illegal aliens a day.
I have not heard about the driver pay scale for the drugs, but I have heard the human rate is $1,000 to $2000 per head.
I am pretty sure the cartels ain’t doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. So the question is:
How do the Illegals pay that money back?
S L A V E R Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give them free money reparations and they’ll just blow it on guns, ammo and drugs. If you’re really convinced black lives matter, you may want to be against “reparations.”

I saw a thread here recently that argued that most of the purchases of slaves in America happened before America became a nation and that England was responsible for the vast majority of bringing slaves to the New World.

Therefore England is responsible for any reparations.

$30T in transfer payments to generations of blacks over the past 60+ years is more than enough in “reparations.” Get on with it black people, and fix yourselves.

For most, reparations have been paid in the form of white genes

Black History Month: A time for black people to be angry at whites for half of their ancestors enslaving the other half.

Something like 4% of the Atlantic Slave Trade went to the British Colonies in North America. Most of the slave trade was a Spanish and Portuguese affair, heading to the Caribbean and to South America.

If any more welfare payments (”reparations”) are to be made to black people, the money should come from the DemocRAT party, the ones who institutionalized slavery in America, and who continue the practice today with their urban plantations in the inner cities that they control almost exclusively.

I bet most of these BLM type crazies have never heard of the great British William Welberforce [Wilberforce], who fought really hard to abolish slavery, even before America did.
Sorry but must give some argument on this, albeit it also involves language & interpretation.

BACKGROUND:
All kudos to Wilberforce, a man deserving much esteem. As a member of Parliament [Great Britain (GB)] he 'owned' a "Rotten Borough" seat that was his as long as he paid for it out of his considerable fortune. As such, he was well able to enjoy the 'good life' with minimal responsibilities BUT he CHOSE to take bigger issues like the slave trade.

For GB there are 2 dates concerning control of slavery via Parliamentary Acts (laws). The first was the ending of the English transportation of slaves, as property, from Africa to elsewhere, "Foreign Slave Trade Bill". This was Wilberforce's big triumph in 1806-7 and it was very big because of the sugar plantations in the Caribbean Islands. These plantations were very lucrative in profits and taxes BUT almost totally 'farmed' by slaves. Cutting off the source of this labor pool meant a visible stumble at a time when England was fighting a death struggle with Napoleon & France. If you want to see how this war effected domestic England, look at the books and media like Poldark. Smuggling was a big issue because the Government levied HIGH Tariffs on common goods for that effort, think of 100-500% duties. Thus, stopping or reducing slavery to the sugar plantations could mean a necessary increase in those more local taxes.

Actions: GB & US
In the USofA, the 1st National move towards curtailing slavery is found in the 1789 US Constitution under Article 1, Section 9, Paragraph 1; "The Migration or Importation of such Persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit, shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the Year one thousand eight hundred and eight, but a Tax or duty may be imposed on such Importation, not exceeding ten dollars for each Person." This preceded Wilberforce by about 15 years in enacting a law.

For the Constitution Writers, they had the advantage of postponing enactment by the 20 years and the opponents that would otherwise be resisting were more worried about the chaos that would otherwise results under the Articles of Confederation. Additionally, it seems likely, that the slave proprietors thought that there would be other avenues for new slaves through the western frontiers, especially Spanish Mexico. In GB, the 1807-8 passage did not ban slave ownership, it just banned the transportation by GB merchant ships. It took till 1833 for another law for the abolishment of slave ownership. In the US, it took our Civil War of 1861-65 for that.

On the topic of Wilberforce's efforts towards the 1806-8 Parliament act, I commend the excellent movie "Amazing Grace" (2006) for a near hagiography of Wilberforce and his cohorts.

We are still paying reparations. This is what the free college for blacks was about. This is what the 10 point federal hiring preference was about.

I am sure somewhere there is a tally of what these actions alone cost the taxpayers.

Democrats have obscured this reality by further giving college and preferences to everyone but WHITE MALES.

Only the much hated white male can clearly see this thru experience. Maybe his white wife who gets gender preferences can too see. Maybe blacks themselves know this to be true.

Did not these benefits translate to billions of income flowing to the black people of this country, via college and jobs?

This program was never designed to raise the IQ of blacks, which lags those of whites when compared enmasse. However, there are ample intelligent members with high IQ who are black.

Then there is the present issue of destroying the K-12 educational system to ensure blacks recieve equal grades. This has gone on since 1968 with bussing.

How can we undo the damage to children, both white and black, who have different appitudes? We have tried to lower the standards. We have taken Math and English out of the skill set. How can we achieve the best results for everyone? Do we separate kids by IQ or achievement, which is what magnet schools are about?

The damage to American in addressing the question of racial reparations has destroyed us (the US citizen). Today, we have Marxist America (White) Hating teachers and administrations at schools that are working to destroy each human’s ability to function and become their best. Schools today indoctrine children that White is Bad, Republicans Bad, Homos good, etc.

I got a degree in Education Leadership as a MS while in the Army. I didn’t get the degree for any reason other than to learn and increase my chances for promotion. I was hired as the director of Fort Bragg and the Pope AFB programs and cleaned them up before leaving education. Cheating is rampant with the teachers and degrades the instruction.

It is my belief that children should get all their instruction online in a classic education K-12, with one or two days a week at their school with classmates, with most that devoted to sports and hands on skills such as cooking, sewing, and woodshop.

"The only difference between the 1860s and now is that instead of importing the slaves, we're exporting the plantations."

Brilliant point. I am so stealing that.
