Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had trash thrown at him and was booed by some fans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as he left the field with an injury Sunday night.
Prescott left the game amid a flurry of boos during the game's 4th quarter due to a thumb injury, which will likely sideline him for at least six weeks, according to ESPN.
Some fans at the game who were upset with the quarterback expressed their frustration by pelting him with trash.
Earlier this year, fans at the stadium threw trash at referees and players at the end of the Cowboys' first-round loss in the playoffs last season. Prescott praised the fans in January for throwing debris at the refs, saying "credit to them" in a press conference following the playoff loss last season.
The thumb injury means Prescott will likely miss at least one game for the third season in a row. In 2020, Prescott suffered an injury to his right ankle in week 5 against the New York Giants that forced him to sit out the rest of the season, and in 2021, he suffered a calf strain that caused him to miss a week 7 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
"It's very disappointing, but injuries happen, can't necessarily control it, just unfortunate," Prescott said in a press conference after the game. "Obviously going to miss some time, not be there for my team, and that's what hurts more than anything, especially after the start we just put out there. Wanted to be able to respond, and not necessarily having that opportunity for several weeks, yeah, it's unfortunate."
The Cowboys lost the game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19-3, with Prescott finishing the game with 14 pass completions for 134 yards, one interception, and no touchdowns. With the loss, the Cowboys remain winless against Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
He certainly did not deliver, but on paper his stats are quite good. 37TD/10 INTs last year (Cowboys record for TD), 4500 yds passing. Much better than the (before 2021 playoffs) ridiculously-hyped Kyler Murray.
They didn’t even draw that well in their heyday, except when FSU or UF visited Miami.
...or a teasip, or a Baylor Bear.
But how about Incarnate Word?
Both............................
Call their sponsors and tell the you keep a list of companies you won't buy from when Kaepernick shows up on screen. Tell them you want the National Anthem played at the actual beginning of the game not in the pre-game crap.
No kneeling. Anyone who needs to kneel can do it in the locker room.
And Dak? It's OK to throw crap at refs but not him?
Sadly I'm in the Tampa Bay Area so we're forced to have to worry about who we'll play in the "Big Game".
Very stressful. ;-)
Pretty proud of those teasips, actually. They played one heck of a game against the #1 team in the country. Now if they dump it against UTSA this week, it's gonna get ugly.
UTSA is no slouch.
Didn’t y’all lose to Kansas last year? Besides, there are no moral victories, a loss is a loss.
Tell you what, Kansas is getting much much better, beat West Virginia in OT this weekend.
I hear you.
Not really. One point loss to a perennial powerhouse when you're a 20 point underdog is a pretty good game, IMO. KU was last year. And they also lost to WVU, Iowa State and Arkansas. No sense bringing up last year's games though since they don't matter at all to this season.
...soo have you got a YT source of free highlights for Sunday games??
thanks
Staubach would have wrapped it up and gone back in.
I am no expert, but have been watching the NFL since Jim Brown was playing and the Cleveland Browns were contenders every year.
Dak is an average QB. If this were the 80’s or earlier, he would be paid as much as an OL, not a LT though.
The defense tackles like it is the Pro Bowl. I did watch the game last night though, and amazingly two guys clearly hit TB after the ball was gone. In todays game, it was roughing the passer. There was no call, which showed me that the fix was in for Dallas. You can tell who is favored by the league by the referees flags, and which team.
The kick was blocked, because the guy coming in was left unblocked. It was NOT THE SNAPPER.
I admire Cowboy fans for the grit and knowledge. Booing an innocent player is a symptom of bigger issues, such as fans feeling neglected and ripped off by the team. Angels Baseball fans feel neglected by a team that has two Hall of Famers, Trout and Ohtani, followed by a bunch of players hitting .156.
