The body found near the Memphis crime scene late Sunday has been identified as missing teacher and young mother Eliza Fletcher, the Memphis Police Department confirmed.
Fletcher was abducted while she was running near the University of Memphis early Friday morning. Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Cleotha Abston, 38, on Saturday after matching his DNA to a pair of sandals found near the scene.
Abston was charged Tuesday morning with first-degree murder, in addition to his previous charges, records show.

“Some people simply don’t grasp that the world is dangerous, and some parts of it are incredibly dangerous.”
Exactly! Pollyannish outlook on people and life very dangerous.
“And what are white people like? You mean they don’t murder, rape,...”
I made a very general statement which was simply agreeing with another poster’s statement.
You illustrate why saying anything that is critical of blacks (far from all blacks, by the way) is a taboo. Not only do you live in a dream world, you also smack down those that don’t also live there.

First Degree murder charges, and only a $500,000 bail. WTF?? Oh wait, he’s black, and already did 20 years for kidnapping a lawyer from the same law firm Eliza Fletcher’s uncle worked, and his dead victim was a rich, white woman. Never mind.
Yes. Poor kids.
May God watch over them.
And may Eliza Fletcher rest in peace with God.

“Glad she ended up ok. Good for the worker who rendered aid, too - often, that doesn’t happen ...”
The worker who rescued her was young and on the small side, not someone you would think would do what he did. He literally put himself in harms way to help her. This happened in Columbus, OH years ago. He was given a city commendation. Our DIL, who at point had no idea he had a gun, said that when she got to the front of the building she screamed “HELP ME”, and what was funny when the kid was interviewed on TV, he said, he barely heard her and it definitely wasn’t a scream, he heard it almost as a whisper. To this day, I believe it was divine intervention, us discussing the book days before the event and the kid sensing she was in trouble.
Adamantly agree Nully. I've never understood why someone, particularly a female, wouldn't carry especially if they are in a city. Uncomfortable with a firearm? Get training. Still uncomfortable? Practice makes perfect.
A female cousin proudly told me she got her CC permit. I sincerely replied "Great, what firearm did you get?" Her reply..."I haven't gotten that part yet but I got my permit!" What is she going to do, show the bad guy her CC card?
RE: not executed.
The Left says “it has never been proven to be a deterrent.”
But it is a deterrent for the executed felons who are no longer around to kill and rape again.
By the way, how’s that “rehabilitation” in prison going? For every Charles Colson there are Muslim converts and iron pumping cons training each other for crime and escape techniques every day. Note: “Islan is the fastest growing religion in U.S. prisons, where the population is 18 percent Muslim (compared to 1 percent for the general population); 80 percent of all prison religious conversions are to Islam.”
In a book about the original crime victim support groups a woman whose husband was brutally murdered walked through the cellblocks and exercise rooms to have her appointment with the warden. She was shocked and dismayed to pass happy, laughing prisoners joking with each other (described like a scene from the movie Car Wash). Good quality computers for that day and internet, nice TVs, excellent exercise equipment, basketball court outside. And no examples she saw of “nobody knows the trouble I seen.”
“The police prevented vigilant people from lynching this guy 20 years ago.”
I’m all for an accused person getting a fair trial, but now I wonder if, after that fair trial, the convicted should just be thrown to the mob for execution of sentence.
What’s worse is that it isn’t even really $500,000. Rather, all he needs to do is come up with $50,000 from some bleeding heart wokester, find a bondsman who will accept that, and stand for the $500,000 if he takes it on the lamb. On the other hand, Kyle Rittenhouse, who shot three people in absolute, legitimate, perfect self-defense, killing two of the vermin, was forced to post an actual $2 million to gain his freedom. Not much justice between those two cases.
The only way law abiding citizens will ever get justice in this country today, is to go out and get it themselves. I'm all for instant gratification when it comes to wiping slime off the streets of America, so they can never prey on anyone ever again. I'm surprised vast swathes of vigilantism haven't cropped up yet.
A more accurate term: “ferals”: wild beasts which superficially resemble the domesticated variety.
To this day, I believe it was divine intervention .....
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Yes. I’ve seen Divine Intervention too many times not to believe in it and it’s wonderful when it happens.
Much obliged.
De nada. FReepers help each other freep!
“I made a very general statement which was simply agreeing with another poster’s statement.”
I agree. And that poster stated that black people are not like white people. I simply asked you if white people do not commit the same crimes that you complain about black people committing.(which is what prompted the original comment that you responded to.)
You illustrate why saying anything that is critical of blacks (far from all blacks, by the way) is a taboo. Not only do you live in a dream world, you also smack down those that don’t also live there.”
You did not leave any room in your original response that would have implied you weren’t talking about all black people. Only when I questioned your statement did you say “Far from all blacks, by the way.” I appreciate your reluctant clarification.
As far as “living in a dream world” my FRiend, you know nothing about me - nothing at all. I can readily assure you that my world is far more ethnically diverse than you can imagine or would probably be comfortable with.
But you may be correct, now that I think about it. It very well may be a Dream world - the very same world that inspired a young black man to say “I Have A Dream.” Yes, I’ll gladly admit to living in that Dream world. And if you consider this being “smacked down”, so be it. Consider yourself smacked.

“Only when I questioned your statement did you say “Far from all blacks, by the way.” I appreciate your reluctant clarification.”
There’s a problem on the black and black-sympathizers side. They (their media spokesmen) consider all criticism of their culture to be insults or attacks or “racism”. Blacks want a separate but equal culture when, in fact, they’d benefit by adopting some traits of the white culture. And vice versa.
“You know nothing about me”
I’m interested at the ideas expressed, not the person expressing them.
True - the cry of racism is thrown around rather lightly these days. It is used more as a trump card to shut down discussion than to identify actual racist thought, speech, and action.
“I’m interested in the ideas expressed, not the person expressing them.”
This is an unfortunate statement. People form ideas through various means - personal experience, thought, influence, external information, beliefs, to name a few. The ideas expressed are a conglomeration of everything that brought the idea into existence. Separating the idea from the person excludes the very essence of that idea itself.
“I’m interested in the ideas expressed, not the person expressing them”
I was thinking of on this board. We posters don’t know each other.
I’m also I’m bad remembering names. And I’m lazy.
My main interest being here is getting clues on what the heck is going on in the world. FreeRepublic is an excellent source but there are numerous others that provide clues.
