'I'm DONE with Portland' : Furious residents of the Dem-led city reveal to DailyMail.com why they have no choice but to sell their homes as 'homeless drug addicts' set up camp right outside their front doors

In a city known for it's unique neighborhoods, bike-friendly commutes, and locally-owned businesses, some Portland, Oregon residents have become so terrified of the homeless crisis plaguing the area, which is now spreading into the suburbs, they have resorted to selling their homes - but realtors are struggling to offload them.

Photos by DailyMail.com show how some of the most charming, trendy and expensive neighborhoods of the Pacific Northwest city are now overrun with tent cities crowding residential sidewalks and littered with trash.

The Democratic city has one of the most deserted downtowns in the United States as soaring crime rates and homelessness are scaring away both locals and tourists. But now the crisis has spread beyond the downtown area and into the quiet suburbs, forcing many to leave.

These homeless camps are now becoming a permanent fixture in the suburbs, with the city being forced to conduct sweeps on a regular basis.

The latest sweep took place a week ago as Portland's Rapid Response Bio-Clean team cleared out a large homeless camp at Southeast 80th Avenue and Rhine Street, according to KGW8.

The site - located at the corner of the South Tabor and the Foster-Powell neighborhoods - had been reported by residents countless times this summer, but nothing was ever done. Until now.

But it's a little too late for lifelong residents Bruce and Rebecca 'Becky' Philip who told DailyMail.com that they're 'done with Portland' due to the increasing number of homeless camps that have trickled into the suburbs from downtown.

'I've been here 65 years but I'm done,' Bruce Philip said. 'I'm done with Portland.'

And who voted for those politicians. The person being forced to sell.

My question….who buys the house?

Portland is going to go from one of the whitest most liberal cities in the country to one big Section 8 project.

Sadly, given their arrogance and hypocrisy, the folks that are moving won’t change their political ideals and vote for the same people and policies in their new homes.

They could have lived there for decades for all I know. If not, they were not very savvy purchasers were they. 🙂

I mean it was a fairly nice place, wacky, but nice. It has descended into 3rd world status, but the handwriting was on the wall.

Didn’t they build, in an attempt to show the world how great mass transit is, a train system that no one used?

The rich white liberals don’t care about all the riots and violence in the city. It takes place in the downtown areas where it’s mostly commercial.

In typical Leftist fashion, if it doesn’t effect me personally I do not care. Now the policies all of them have been supporting for years are coming home to roost.

And to think, even if you figured out a way to get all the homeless off the street, where do you put them? Millions have come across the border and are taking up all the section 8 properties.

They WILL vote Democrat of course. Democrat voters are mentally incapable of correlating Democrat government’s failures to their voting Democrat. It’s like their ability to think critically was sucked out of their heads along with most of their IQ.

In a city known for it's its unique neighborhoods [...]

Embarrassing grammatical error in first sentence.

FAIL!

What politicians don't seem to understand is that this kind of frustration is leading to vigilante justice in other cities.

For example in Seattle, there is now a raging controversy over home-owners and businesses buying and installing Ecology Blocks in areas where either the homeless set up tents or where they park broken down RV's they live in. The pro-homeless have forced the city to start moving these 1 ton blocks of concrete way from areas that have been swept of homeless shelters.

Well, in some neighborhoods, people are installing cattle troughs filled with dirt and plants in the “planing strip” between the curb and the side walk to prevent tents from being set up. They are now starting to be vandalized.

No one wants to call it what it really is, but vigilantes are beginning to fight to take back the streets. In acts that no one condones, there have been a lot of arson fires at homeless camps. It could be meth cooking gone wrong, it could be drunk/drugged homeless using cook stoves improperly, or it could be angry neighbors. Hard to say.

One of the things that was missed by the left in the whole defund the police movement was that if government will not provide basic police services, people will. In Seattle, there is a Downtown Business Association that has hired its own security guards. Some small businesses have have been robbed a lot have even hired armed security guards.

We are heading in the direction of vigilante justice. When the left figures that out, they are going to flip out.
