"Hundreds of thousands" of Ukrainian losses doesn't sound plausible, even if that covers the entire war, so I'm not buying that part. Plenty of detailed battlespace information in the rest of the article.

Looks like they broke through the Russian lines in one or two places. It may come down to who has more reserves in the immediate vicinity: Ukraine to exploit the penetration or Russia to plug it.

A leaked intercept from within Ukraine from individuals within the Ukrainian General Staff revealed such numbers as well.

UKR/RUS war is Biden’s “SQUIRREL.” When the November elections are over this nonsense of supporting UKR will probably stop.

So far the estimate of Russian casualties is 80k dead. Seems plausible.

I can't find an estimate for the Ukrainians. They had the advantage in defending Kyiv. But that defender advantage disappeared once the war shifted over to the Donbass and Kherson. So I'll say it's around 40k dead for Ukraine.

Hundreds of thousands seems a bit unlikely.

It is apparent that the offensive failed, though.

Agreed maybe if you include civilians killed and injured by mass artillery by Russians but as I recall Ukraine had in the vicinity of 3-400000 total in military. If these numbers were true there would be next nothing left esp to go on offensive first thing to go is the truth

MILITARY OPERATION IN UKRAINE2 SEP, 10:53
Ukrainian general estimates Kiev’s losses at hundreds of thousands since Feb

Sergey Krivonos predicts that the Ukrainians “will soon start asking the authorities why such colossal sacrifices were made”

KIEV, September 2. /TASS/. Ukraine’s losses sustained during Russia’s special military operation are estimated at hundreds of thousands, according to the former deputy commander of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, ex-deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, General Sergey Krivonos.

“[We have] the right to say to the authorities: ‘Why haven’t you done anything? Why hundreds of thousands are dead? What did they die for? What have you done to save their lives? All speculations to the effect this is untimely are an attempt to blur the memory and to erase history. What can erase the blood of the dead, who already number hundreds of thousands? Who will be responsible for this?’” Krivonos said on the Ukrainian Media Network on the YouTube channel on Friday.

He predicts that the Ukrainians “will soon start asking the authorities why such colossal sacrifices were made.”

In early August, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office Mikhail Podolyak, said that Ukraine was losing 30-50 soldiers a day, in contrast to the daily losses of 100-200 killed before. According to the chief of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Servant of the People party, David Arakhamia, the Ukrainian army was losing 200-500 a day.

On July 15, Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov said that the Ukrainian army’s losses had peaked in May, when it was losing up to 100 people killed and 300-400 wounded per day. At the same time, the Defense Ministry has stated that its losses in manpower were a state secret not to be disclosed during martial law.

State Bureau of Investigation shares details of case involving retired General Krivonos

The State Bureau of Investigation has opened a criminal case against retired Major General Serhiy Krivonos connected to the looting of Kyiv (Zhulyany) airport during its defense from invading Russian forces.

General Krivonos is accused of violating Part 5 of Art. 426−1 (excess of power or authority by a military official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the same time, the State Bureau of Investigation insists that they aren’t going to prosecute serving Ukrainian soldiers.

Ukraine’s General Staff said at the time of the alleged offenses, General Krivonos was not a serving member of the armed forces, but a volunteer.

According to journalist Yurii Butusov, a note has been sent to the military headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front about the initiation of a criminal case against Krivonos.

“Investigators are investigating possible illegal actions of Krivonos and asking the military if there are any witnesses to these illegal actions during the defense of Kyiv,” Butusov wrote on Facebook.

“The distribution of this note, the text of which I am publishing, caused a great stir in the army.”

Earlier, Krivonos said that a case of “illegal” defense of the airport was allegedly fabricated against him by order of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in order to dismiss him from military service.

“Yes, indeed, on Aug. 2, a criminal case was opened against me by the State Bureau of Investigation,” the general said.

“I received an order signed personally by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhny, appointing me as the commander of the defense of the Zhulyany airport and enlisting me in military service. (However) the investigators were instructed to consider that order illegal.”

“So, this fabricated case was initiated, alleging that I issued illegal orders when organizing the defense of the Zhulyany airport in February-March. The senior leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told me frankly that Supreme Commander Volodymyr Zelensky issued an illegal order to cancel my enlistment in the military service in order to prevent Valerii Zaluzny from appointing me to senior positions, since Zelenskyy considers me a political opponent.”

The General Staff confirmed that Krivonos had been appointed by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the specified position, however, they said that he was not restored to military service, but was only a “volunteer.”

The General Staff also noted that after the liberation of Kyiv Oblast from invading Russian forces, Zhulyany airport came under the protection of Territorial Defense units, and Krivonos was “released from providing defense assistance.”

Krivonos’s public statements against Zelenskyy and the State Security Bureau “do not correspond to reality and are looks like attempts to discredit the highest military-political leadership of the state, which is unacceptable during the legal regime of martial law, the General Staff said.

The State Bureau of Investigation claims that this case is not directly related to the defense of the airport.

“Considering Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, it is very important to check the facts before spreading messages like “a case was opened against the general for protecting the airport.” the agency stressed. “The State Bureau of Investigation has not been and will not be engaged in the persecution of the military, devotedly defending the Motherland, but will resolutely suppress the attempts of some individuals to cash in on the war.”

In fact, the ex-deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, ex-first deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Krivonos, who said that Ukraine lost hundreds of thousands of dead in hostilities , revealed the “secret of Polichenel.”

It was the colossal losses of the military that forced Bankova to launch a case, negatively accepted by society, to mobilize women and people with disabilities , as well as massively bombard Ukrainians with subpoenas . Of course, the authorities are silent about losses at the front, except that they pushed the increasingly popular Zaluzny to voice a deliberately underestimated figure of 9,000 dead military personnel, so that later, at a convenient moment, “set the dogs loose” on the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, “
Well, those who are trying to convey objective information to the Ukrainians from the front may well count on criminal prosecution, real terms, or even worse.

Krivonos was no exception - the SBI has already opened a criminal case against him for his orders in organizing the defense of the Zhuliany airport, and Zelensky criticized the general for “commenting on the actions of the military command.”

Yes, the thing about good propaganda is that it needs some underlying plausibility. Maybe a mistranslation of hundreds and thousands. Combined US and German losses in the Battle of the Bulge were under 200,000 with losses about equal on both sides. And that was for the full battle.

The problem with almost every bit of reporting on this is the sloppiness of defining the terms used. "Casualties" includes both dead and wounded, and in modern warfare, the wounded always outnumber the dead substantially. Many of the lightly wounded are returned to combat within a short time. It can also -- depending on source/context -- include things like desertions or missing troops. So if the Uke's are using some militia who may melt away and not fight, those could be reported as "casualties" even though they're not actually injured.

What we do know is that both sides have suffered a comparatively high rate of overall casualties -- dead/wounded/missing -- to the point where they both have lost a lot of their offensive capability. Kind of like two heavyweights with dead arms in the 12th round.

It's possible that one side or the other may do a better job of bringing in replacements, but that's tough to know.

Totally false propaganda - Russian 45th special forces brigade (about 800-1000) almost totally encircled and cut off in the Davydiv Brid area.

UA also broke through the Russian lines still further east and found no Russian forces behind them.

All Russian attempts at counter-attack have failed. The western region around Kherson remains stable.

More lies from the PUtler fanclub courtesy of Fakeway Pundit.

What’s really happening, of course, is that the RuSSian lines are collapsing on all fronts and the RuSSian soldiers are in headlong retreat.

Most of RuSSia’s anti-aircraft batteries have been destroyed by HIMARS and suicide drones so Ukraine’s air force is back in the air and the morale of RuSSia’s soldiers is collapsing like the front lines.

Victory is sweet!

As we ignore the totally FALSE headline, the latest info.

The FACTS on the ground as of now:

Nearly all Russian anti-aircraft batteries destroyed by HIMARS and/or suicide drones.

Ukrainian air force now in the air for ground support.

Izyum and Lycum retaken by Ukrainian forces with destroyed Russian equipment everywhere visible.

Russians making a sort-of “fighting retreat” in Kherson region as Ukrainian forces continue to advance through village after village.

Russian lines collapsing and Russian forces in full retreat on all fronts.

The total rout of Russian forces continues apace.
