No running water in Jackson. The heat index is 102 degrees. Schools and universities are closed. No way to cook, clean, bathe. This is capital city, and the biggest city in Mississippi. #jxnwatercrisis

Keep voting for republicans and eventually MS can be last in everything. Or at least be proudly neck and neck with KY for the bottom spot.

The city of Jackson is Democrat controlled and has been for many years. They own/operate/maintain the water system. I’m not saying that matters, but the facts matter.

As always socialism starts to fail as the infrastructure built by capitalism starts to implode with time.
Socialism is like a slow-acting poison. It can take decades to see the negative effects, thus giving the false impression it isn’t bad.
From what I can tell, Jackson has had only one Republican mayor, about 30 years ago, and he was a former Democrat.
Speaking of 30 years, I read somewhere else that Jackson has put off maintenance and renovation of its water system for about that long.
ya, democrats run that city (from what I am gathering from other posters)
so obviously it’s republicans fault for not winning the election or something.
Too many white guilters watched the movie The Help
You get what you vote for
Just make Clinton the capital as they were going to do
Everything Democrats touch turns to sh!t.
A picture of his cabinet…
I’m guessing they’re up on all the latest pronouns, though.
dear brittney, you’ve had how long to get your needed supplies?
you’ve had how long to have a kit in your car .... you do have a car, do you not?
none of this is a politician’s fault.
you were just too damn lazy, and, thought that it would never happen, as fools do.
Unlike COVID, this would be a bona fide emergency.
Chokwe Antar Lumumba & City Council
Maybe move the capital to another city. One with a Republican administration.
““We’ve been going it alone for the better part of two years when it comes to the Jackson water crisis,” Lumumba said...”
Umm, don’t all municipalities generally “go it alone” when it comes to supplying basic necessities like water? The state sure didn’t come in to set up water filtration in my city.
Tacit admission that nothing runs right if it ain’t white. Jackson is a dirty and disgusting place
They don’t have water, but at least whitey isn’t charge.
Good job guys…
He doesn’t seem a competent person.
Someone may want to audit where exactly the $400 million in federal funds that Jackson received to fix their water treatment facilities went.
