You are correct about the staff at those big box hardware stores. A buyer has to know the product. One cannot always trust the staff. I was looking for pocket door hardware and pocket doors..staff told me they (HD) didn’t carry it. I found them and kindly showed him where they were. He was the older expert in the department. Note: people need a license to drive. Part of the test should be if they know how to operate all basic equipment and know what the lights, gauges, computer screens, and knobs on the dashboard mean. Everybody.

That's why I love true hardware stores. I salivate when passing any Ace Hardware, where there are several knowledgeable people standing by to wait on me.
