An elite all-girls school in Nashville has paused implementation of a policy allowing applications from anyone who identifies as female after backlash from the community.
Last week, in an email to parents, Harpeth Hall School announced a new "Gender Diversity Philosophy," explaining a new admissions policy that would allow "any student who identifies as a girl" to apply to the school.
"We recognize that this philosophy elicited strong reactions of support and opposition beyond our expectations," the school said in an email to the community obtained by Fox News Digital. "We care deeply about your feedback and we have heard you."
"Based on the response from our school and community, the Harpeth Hall Board of Trustees is choosing to pause the adoption of the philosophy in order to engage a wider audience in continued discussion," the letter continued.
The letter added that the school does not want to make changes to its longstanding admission practices and continues to "serve girls and young women."
Other all-girls institutions have taken similar steps, allowing biological males who identify as female to apply to the school.
In 2016, Barnard College, an all-women’s college in New York City, implemented a policy to "consider for admission those applicants who consistently live and identify as women, regardless of the gender assigned to them at birth." The decision made Barnard the last of the traditional Seven Sisters colleges to update their admissions policies.

If I felt it was important to send my girls to an all girl school.. I would of pulled them out immediately after hearing of this crazy idea.
What was the "support" ? If this obviously didn't run over 90% against doing so, they wouldn't have swiftly changed course over this insanity.
“Engaging a wider audience” means seeking funding from woke foundations, which will enable them to ignore opposition from parents, grandparents, and alumnae. Without even feeling it, these leftist funding sources can write checks that will enable school administrators to disregard traditional stakeholders.
$5 million and the place is yours. A trifle to control the formation of the next generation’s elite.
How did it pass in the first place. A boy is not a girl. It’s called “pretend”...and your head is screwed up.
College is different than high school

It's a type of "paraphilia" --a term used to describe abnormal sexual desires. Another word we need to start using more.
These transwomen are nothing more than plain old sexual deviants, what we used to simply call "transvestites" (and this word should return to use as well).
Why can’t those people just leave it alone? What ever happened to women’s groups like NOW and those red hooded ladies that claim men are trying to make them slaves to have babies? Men are trying to take over women’s sports, women’s gyms, women’s schools, women’s clubs and women’s bathrooms. What the heck? Ladies! Don’t let them do it for any reason...not even claiming to be transgender! It’s big fat lie!
Not much of a surprise - “elite” all girls school has no stones.
Barnyard college has been on the cutting edge of social change/engineering so long, that they forgot to give an education that matters to the rest of the world.
Lets see how funny and cute they think this is until they get their first sexual assault crime.

My parents made sure to enroll us in a private Christian academy. Even if they had to take extra jobs. By the time I turned 18/19, I went to work asap and refused money from them so did my brothers and sisters as gratitude.
That same private Christian academy has a longer wait than the Green Bay packers, in years. My nieces and nephews are starting in 3 years.
Tell me: which school makes sure that the parents are MANDATED to clean the school grounds, mow the church lawn and recite the Lord’s prayer every day, at an assigned date or their kid gets expelled? No matter how rich you are..
