ELVIS Presley's tragic death at the age of 42 was not caused by self-destruction and drug abuse but was instead a tragic inevitability spurred by bad genes in the singer's family tree, a biographer claims.
Myths and misconceptions have continued to swirl around Elvis' death in the 45 years since the legendary performer was found unresponsive in the bathroom of his Graceland mansion on August 16, 1977....Hoedel believes that Gladys was actually suffering from Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, an inherited and rarely diagnosed disorder that can cause lung and liver disease.
"We know Elvis had it because he found to be a carrier for Alpha-1 after his death, so it had to come from somewhere" she added.

Nature vs nurture and then a combination of both.
genetic testing is far more advanced than the doctors ability to interpret and knowledge on how to deal with it......
i think he was a test subject unbeknownst to him for a future covid vaccine- thaT’S my theory and im stickign to it j/k
He looked bloated in 1977, you can see from concert footage. Maybe that was caused by liver problems.
Interesting.
I’ve visited Graceland, he’s buried next to the swimming pool, they had to move him from the cemetery because people were chiseling pieces off the grave marker.
bad genes + pill s+ deep-fried PBJ sandwiches= early death
I don’t think just PB & Banana Sandwiches made him all that bloated, when he was doing the years in Vegas etc.
Given all I’ve read over the past year, Elvis was probably transgender
it took me testing positive for ANA before they even did a Alpha-1-antitrypsin test on me but my liver functions are normal.
even today...they still don’t know how to effectively deal with autoimmune disorders...let alone back then.
The author is claiming he had problems in several categories starting at birth. I am not an Elvis fan so I have no idea where she got that idea.
I was coaching high school football when Elvis died...
Another school in our area had a player and his name was Elvis Pressley...
When I walked into our locker room, another coach asked “Did you hear??? Elvis Presley died...”
I said “Did he die at football practice???”
He was a 350 pound junkie.
Not even the best of genes can overcome that life choice.
The sheer amount of drugs he abused would have killed anyone except perhaps Keef.
btw, for the person who wrote RUBBISH in the key words...
IF Elvis was a carrier then it does mean he got it from a parent. His mother’s condition fits with what happens to someone with the disease. So it’s not rubbish. Of course, she could have had something else in addition to or she could have just been a carrier...etc.
And as a carrier of several things myself...I am finding that when science claims a carrier doesn’t have symptoms they then can find out later that perhaps science didn’t get it right.
For example, they are looking at whether my carrier status affects other immune issues in close proximity to the band of the gene.
not sure what it has to do with his medical condition but I think fame and fortune comes with a curse
Not a haunted star, but a Black Star. The only song The King himself wrote and sang.
true..but genetics could have played a part in that..and probably did. Nature and Nurture.
For example, here is an interesting study. These things are very difficult to prove:
Reference papers and your DNA
Associations between FTO rs9939609 polymorphism, serum vitamin D, mental health, and eating behaviors in overweight adults.
Results of the association analysis between rs9939609 and eating behaviors revealed that participants with AA genotype showed a higher EE score than those with the TT genotype after considering important confounding variables.
Or mental health ones
The Impact of the FKBP5 Gene Polymorphisms on the Relationship between Traumatic Life Events and Psychotic-Like Experiences in Non-Clinical Adults.
Wait. We’re now admitting he died? Didn’t get that memo.
He had some psychological disturbance. Can’t remember all the things Priscilla claims but something about he didnt want to have sex with her after she had the baby.
He might be on the same island as Hitler
He served in the army so he couldn’t have been that unhealthy. Don’t think he was a big drinker or smoker, was he?
If I see the word “shocking” in the title I assume it’s clickbait.
