Actress Anne Heche sustained a catastrophic brain injury in the fiery Mar Vista crash last week and is not expected to survive, her representative said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive,” the statement read.
Heche is “being kept on life support to determine if any [of her organs] are viable” for donation, the statement added.
“Anne had a huge heart and touched everyone she met with her generous spirit. More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life’s work — especially moving the needle for acceptance of who you love. She will be remembered for her courageous honesty and dearly missed for her light,” the spokesperson added.
video showed Heche’s blue Mini Cooper Clubman being towed out of the home, with a woman sitting up on a stretcher and struggling as firefighters put her in an ambulance.
Heche is being treated at Grossman Burn Center in West Hills, CNN reported, and in the spokesperson’s statement, they extended thanks to “the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne,” as well as “everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne’s recovery.”

“How’d she vote last time?”
Hollywood lesbian?
I gotta good guess...
if anyone wants to watch Dragnet you can find it for free on youtube. I have to go there to watch the ending because Amazon cuts off the judgement part of it
You will be interested in this story about Padre Pio (Saint Pio of Pietrelcina):
“Years ago I read a biography of Saint Pio, who occasionally was given the gift of knowing the fate of deceased souls. Therein was recounted the true story of a woman who came to him terrified that her late husband was sent to hell after he committed suicide by jumping off a bridge over a river. Padre Pio advised her to keep praying for her husband’s soul because the man was in purgatory, having repented and asked for God’s Mercy just before he hit the water!”

I also saw that story many years ago. The widow believed him and so was comforted, because she hadn’t told Padre Pio how her husband had died.
I would recommend NYPD Blue and Law & Order Criminal Intent. Those should keep you entertained for a month or so
You’re saying “Screw the homeowner, she got wiped out but she is alive”.
I’m not saying screw anybody. I’m just saying it could be worse I guess.
I guess so. But I hope the lady receives compensation to replace her home and belongings.
Absolutely.
I would imagine homeowners insurance would cover the loses and go after Anne Heches insurance, estate etc. for reimbursement.
Just a sad situation all around that didn’t need to happen IMO.
Sounds like suicide.
She won’t make it. They’re going to take her off life support. Sad, indeed.
Just for the record: I am NOT attacking you or saying that your theological position, ultimately (whatever it might be - you've been giving hints up till now), is false or that you are a "bad" person. For the record: You fired the first volley by rebuking me for being judgemental.
From what little has been said so far in this thread (I am guessing that, conservatively, we'd first need hours to properly establish our axioms, define our terms, etc. before getting to the "meat"), I would venture to say that you're perhaps veering into deterministic / Calvinistic territory - i.e., had you or I been born with different parents, in a different socio-economic level, etc., we might have been street drug dealers or purveyors of kiddie porn.
In an extremely rarified philosophical discussion among effete 19th-century Viennese coffeehouse intellectuals, such a thesis might be legitimately considered - but amongst 21-century American conservatives, even deeply religious ones, it's a little too far removed from practical reality. If carried too far, it leads to moral relativism, to excusing any behavior. It leads to sophistry and semantics.
If Jesus meant that we might injure our own souls by not only sitting in judgement over others, but even smugly condemning them, taking pleasure in their misfortune, or hating them (maybe because our own child had been victimized, e.g., by a scuzz-ball paedophile), and if that is what you were implying with your initial remark, I would concede that there was much wisdom in your statement.
However, on a superficial level, when I read about a Hollywood Lesbian drug user - who was undoubtedly "woke," and made no bones about castigating Conservative Americans - crashing into and setting fire to a private residence, I think that I offend no one, nor do not injure my own soul when I state that her life was "messed up" and that the flawed lifestyle was apparently "generational" (my words).
I was not gloating. I was merely observing that she had a deeply flawed biography (reaching back to her parents).
I think that my comment was not especially self-righteous / self-congratulatory in tone, and I think that it was appropriate for a thread on FR about a Hollywood Lesbian drug-using celebrity who had wantonly endangered others and destroyed property.
Regards,
Yes. And that was my point regarding prayer warriors.
If she had them. That extra prayer making a difference.
When she was first seen out of the smoke car, she may have said the sinners prayer right then.
Someone somewhere may have interceded just enough for other lives to be spared.
Someone did not cross a street that day.
Someone was not with her in the passenger seat
No family or hitchhikers in the rear seats. etc.
Faith and prayer. Beyond deism.
Yep.
Apparently she’s married so it’s just a matter of the spouse getting everything in order.
My bad. she’s divorced but has kids.
Oh please, grow up.
If you care that little about her, why even post about her.
Good grief.
Thanks very much.
Perry Mason....
I was a kid watching those shows, too. So many famous stars and familiar ones later on shows. Like Naked City.
My grandmother and I watched the Untouchables together. One of her favorite shows.
crime show tips.....
I will definitely look into them.
Thanks
To my FRiends who sent condolences today.
Thank you so much, all of you.
Joy and I were in love together for just under 50 years (typo in my post) and that is a big blessing from God. But getting it ripped away by her passing is hard.
Love to you all,
Frank B.
I’m a recovering alcoholic who by the grace of God never killed anyone driving blitzed out of my mind.
Heche didn’t give a rip about anything or anyone when she CHOSE to drink and do drugs and get behind the wheel of her car and destroyed someone’s home.
Spend sometime working in a hospital ER in any capacity and see what some peoples selfishness can do to innocent people.
Shame on you.
You grow up. Irony’s lost on you, isn’t it?
