A 19-year old man displayed a weapon at a Delray Beach McDonald’s last week because the store’s ice cream machine wasn’t working, police said.
Jerry Henry had an "AK-style rifle" as he entered the McDonald’s drive-thru Aug. 13, according to NBC affiliate WPTV.
Henry, the vehicle’s passenger, “became upset” upon learning that ice cream was unavailable at the McDonald’s on Linton Boulevard close to I-95.
He grabbed the gun, sending restaurant employees to seek cover in the bathroom.
Henry was arrested and there were no reported injuries.
or they already cleaned the machine while they were still open in order to get out of there right after closing time.
“Jerry Henry had an “AK-style rifle”
I guess no one makes anything other than AK things as that seems to be the only thing the media will mention in their articles. It just seems like everyone has something that the media is calling AK and is displaying it as an assault weapon. It’s made by the Izhmash armaments company in Izhevsk, Russia as has been a mainstay by the Russian military since its adoption in 1948.
If we stop buying them will it bring the cost of natural gas down?

The ice cream machines being broken starts at the top and not the franchise level, the franchise owner are just as much victims as the customers.

If this POS wanted revenge against broken ice cream machines he should go here:

The first place I ever saw a gun (a nice shiny silver .22 revolver) brandished socially was at the door of a Dairy Queen in south Florida. Some skinny black kid was showing it to someone inside. Mighta been Flo Rida’’s baby daddy.
It used to be CA man.
Between you and me, I don’t think CA will ever get the title back.
Although CA still owns the title: The Cereal State. The land of fruits, nuts and flakes.

Do not dilute the backlash against the FBI, by committing acts of violence against them!
McDonald’s machines are always broken down because (1) the company went cheap and (2) the company only allows authorized vendors to repair them.
The store owners want to fix them, but aren’t allowed to by McDonald’s corporate.
No more difficult to clean than the ice cream machines at every other fast food place that always seem to work just fine.
The truth is, it’s a racket run by the company that makes the ice cream machines and those contracted to service them. The machines will shut off with a fault code that only contracted technicians can then reset. Often, it’s for something simple, maybe a component needs to be cleaned more thoroughly or something.
A start-up company created a hand-held computer that they were selling to franchises that allowed then to decipher and reset the fault codes and they wound up getting sued by McDonalds.
Yep, shut down stores that are located in bad neighborhoods.
I’ve always wondered why they don’t serve pre-packaged ice cream treats instead of dealing with the machines.
The machines are often broken and seem to be a huge pain point for store owners.
As I pointed out though, this has been a problem for decades and I worked in other restaurants decades before the McD machines were invented. McD HQ may have exacerbated the problem for their franchises but that really has nothing to do with the original problem.
Everyone serving soft serve will always have this mysterious problem from time to time until self cleaning machines are invented or they go back to tubs and scoops.
I’d figure that anyone not living under a rock would know that expecting to get ice cream, or even a shake, at McDonald’s is a fool’s errand. That’s what DQ is for.
lol- yup-
That’s quite all right. The FBI doesn’t own the ice cream machines.
Guess that’s why we don’t see the Hamburglar anymore.
So it isn’t a new phenomenon. Broken ice cream machines mean it’s a “black” McDonalds. I think there’s an app you can check.
ALL Mickey D’s ice cream machines are “broken”...
Always. You would know right when you walked in.
If staffed by "youths", you could guarantee that the machine was broken. They would let you know while staring daggers at you.
If you went to a McD's staffed by white senior citizens, the thing would be working. Without fail.
