Any restrictions by insurance companies on EVs?

I don’t consider the I-Pace a sports car. It’s an SUV, albeit a low-slug sporty looking electric SUV.

The Jag-u-ar sports car is an F-Type, and when I win the lottery, I’ll buy one with the supercharged V8 to go with my semi-old 2005 S-Type.

Ah, Lucas - the Prince of Darkness. For EVs, instead of the classic Lucas 3 position switches (on, off and intermittent), they will use On, Off and E (for explode in unquenchable flames). Some models will come equipped with On, Off and Conflagration switches.

When you by a Jaguar it’s best to buy 2 so you have something to drive while it’s in the shop.

Zoning regs and insurance requirements may limit where you can charge.

73,000 down the tubes. Wonder what the insurance company is willing to pay.

Easily possible to die in a house fire started by a car battery.

The story says the owner heard a popping noise and drove it away from the house....may have saved his house and possessions.

At a minimum, have remote fire and smoke detectors that sound alarms inside the house.

FWIW, speaking with a buddy of mine in the car service business, he sees they see a good number of the EVs that come in for issues have physical damage to the undercarriage/ chassis that contains the battery assembly.

Somehow the owners are running over curbs, debris, speed bumps, dunno ... and having compromised the ‘cage’ protecting the batteries, if the physical batteries inside are damaged, the electrolyte of the batteries can readily ignite when exposed to air and heat-of-charging.

posting from mobile - excuse the bad grammar.
