Consider the January 6th political prisoners who are still rotting in jail. They were allegedly a threat to members of Congress.
Now, look at David G. Jakubonis. He went on stage with a weapon and attempted to stab a sitting member of Congress in the neck. He was charged with “Attempted Assault in the 2nd Degree” and released immediately.
Yes, we have a two-tier justice system. Here’s information from his booking:
– On July 21, 2022 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Representative Lee Zeldin was on stage giving a campaign speech at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8495 at 300 Macedon Center Road, in the Town of Perinton. A male from the crowd climbed up on the stage and approached Zeldin. The male had a weapon in his hand, swung it towards Zeldin’s neck, and told him, “You’re done.”
Members of the audience and Rep. Zeldin’s campaign restrained the male until deputies arrived and took him into custody. There were no injuries.
The suspect is identified as David G. Jakubonis, 43 y/o, of Fairport.
Jakubonis is charged with: Attempted Assault in the Second Degree (E-Felony)
Jakubonis was arraigned in Perinton Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
This is ludicrous in every way. If Kathy Hochul had been attacked in the same manner by a Republican, the attacker would be in jail right now charged with attempted murder.
Friends, Freeper, Moderators - permission to speak freely?
There are rules (many self-imposed) on right-thinking sites against doxxing. But at some point, when ones appreciates the tag line below, understandable exceptions can and should be made.
I could sit here and rattle off at least 5 similar incidents that have happened since the ‘Summer of Love’. And those are just the ones I can recall - and that have made major news. Some involve multiple victims.
I’ll put it bluntly: There is an evil force out there trying to destroy us, and they will succeed if no one is willing to fight back in some fashion. Yes, I know, there’s a famous quote from someone way back about that, but I can’t recall right now.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to work.
just my $0.02
jimjohn - OUT.
He is going to experience a very painful death next time he tries another assassination attempt of Republican candidates. He can count himself lucky he is still alive.
I watched the video of the “attack”. A man walked up to Lee Zeldin whole he was on stage, and held a knife up. He did not try to stab him. Splitting hairs? Maybe, but it did not look like an “attack”.
The Democrats are gangsters.
Anyone who still supports the Democrats has a filthy, evil heart.
Treat them accordingly.
Whilst I agree with you, I have folks I know who still the democrats are that of JFK, etc. So, I would add that anyone who still supports the democrats has a filthy evil heart, or is stupid, or ignorant.
Stranger comes up to you and points a knife at your throat and says, “You’re done!” and you will not call that an attack?...................
The left will not be applauding when their paid assassins get their ugly heads blown off during their assassination attempts.
Maybe he was just trying to sell him a subscription to the Times.
Have you had your coffee yet this morning?
He held a sharp instrument at his next, a few inches away. Tell me, how long would it take to thrust it into his jugular? This is essentially a main component of self defense cases.
You are either blind or stupid. That was clearly an attempted killing. Good thing Zeldin is a pretty strong guy to defend himself or he'd be dead by now.
The “21-Foot Rule” was a measure of distance that related to the time it would take an officer to recognize a threat, draw a sidearm, and fire two rounds center mass against an attacker charging with a knife or other stabbing weapon.
First, an attacker with a knife could cover 21 feet in about 1.5 seconds.
Second, a heckuva lot of law enforcement officers would be lucky to recognize a threat, unholster their sidearms, and successfully stop threats from being able to deliver blows with a knife in less than 1.5 seconds. This was quite a revelation at the time, and it changed the mindset of a lot of officers.
Unless election fraud is dealt with before the mid-terms, the Democrats will continue to control at least one of the Senate or House. But, even if the GOP manages to take back Congress, the "leadership" will find all kinds of excuses not to do what needs to be done.
If these are folks you know, go and ask them why they still support the Democrats.
And don’t settle for a flippant answer.
You’ll find they have a criminal heart.
They want the Democrats to steal for them.
FWIW Zeldin served in 82nd Aiborne.
Joke all you want about the French, but they actually DID storm the Bastille and free the political prisoners there...
He did?
GOOD!
The pic I saw this morning showed a small cut on his nose hear his eye.
