Several minor cannabinoids contained in the cannabis plant "strongly inhibit" the activation of human immune cells that lead to chronic inflammation, according to physiologists at The Queen's Medical Center of Hawaii. The study also revealed the strongest inhibitory cannabinoid, cannabigerolic acid, disrupts a key mechanism that allows calcium ions to enter and activate immune cells. As a result, cannabigerolic acid suppresses the spread of inflammatory signals.
Chronic inflammation is a biological process in which inflamed tissues release messenger molecules called cytokines. These cytokines recruit immune cells that become activated and maintain the inflammatory response. This chronic inflammation initiates or exacerbates numerous human disease conditions.
"Cannabigerolic acid, either alone or in combination with other cannabinoids, may be a key ingredient in medicines that work to break the inflammatory cycle that maintains autoimmune diseases and chronic pain," said Reinhold Penner, MD, Ph.D., co-author of the study. "This could lead to targeted and more specific anti-inflammatory and anti-pain treatments without the risk of serious side effects often encountered with steroids, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or opioids."
"Acidic cannabinoids suppress pro-inflammatory cytokine release by blocking Store-Operated Calcium Entry" is published ahead of print in Function.

From the study, CBGA, CBDA, CBDV, and THCA were the components that had the greatest effect on “Store-Operated Calcium Entry (SOCE),” which is where the effect to minimize pain and inflammation is centered for this behavior.

Those w/ chronic back problems, sciatica, numbness, etc. that partake (in one form or another) of the evil weed will tell you the truth - it helps. A lot.

I was VERY VERY much against medical MJ. Back in 2017, I had a fasciotomy on my leg. It wasn't pretty. Needless to say, it took over a year to heal (needed skin graphs, etc). They put me on opioids for pain. You can easily get hooked on this stuff so I stopped. So I had no other alternative. I'll tell you something, I wish I did this sooner. Medical MJ is one of the best pain relievers and sleep-aids you will EVER use. It's so good I started working for the industry but for things like Delta8 and such (Hemp derived THC which is 100% fed legal). Until I was 44 I hated the idea of medical MJ. Now at 49, Never felt better. I use it every day, my life has improved vastly.

What??? No way. Everyone knows the deadly cannabis plant is a death weed. People have become addicted to it by merely looking at the plant. Someone needs to go back and revisit the documentary "Reefer Madness" to get back to reality.
Did God really say "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed: to you it shall be for food".

And IV injected heroin ameliorates symptoms of chronic pain, as well.

I partook back in the 70s, but decided I didn’t want to live in a delusory reality.
One day I just quit, with no withdrawal symptoms. I suppose the lack of physical dependence is a huge advantage over opioids.

Something to look into:
Urolithin a alleviates oxidative stress-induced senescence in nucleus pulposus-derived mesenchymal stem cells through SIRT1/PGC-1α pathway (Supplement addresses back disc issues)

It's one of three small studies I found on such a benefit from Urolithin A.

There you go again, telling the truth. I think I’ve warned you about this before. You’re trying to make it very inconvenient on the stoners around here. They need their lies to be justified.

Maybe, never tried that.
I lost 60 pounds fasting intermittently, and I’ll tell you what - something I didn’t even consider, however fat loss does more for sciatica, joint pain, etc than any pill.

So does Vicodin. And Ibuprofen.
Are you saying everyone who seeks relief from pain is an addict?

"Does it really help pain, or does it distract one from the pain by making one feel mellow and stoned? " I would say both. Not something I would ever use in the work place or during the work day. I would also say Jim Beam does about the same thing. I'd just rather not (given my JB history) turn into Hank Williams Jr. though.
