The Kansas City Royals want fans to know they tried to get their players vaccinated ahead of the 2022 MLB season. The team sent out a tweet highlighting its "multiple free COVID-19 vaccine events" moments after placing 10 unvaccinated players on the restricted list prior to the team's game in Toronto.
Andrew Benintendi is among the biggest names to miss the road trip to Toronto. He and nine other players, including Hunter Dozier, Brad Keller and Whit Merrifield, hit the restricted list Thursday. Under that announcement, the Royals touted their commitment to educating the public about the viability of vaccines. It was a not-so-subtle shot at those on the team who refuse to get the shot.
SNIP
Though the Royals' tweet appears aimed at those players who chose to not get vaccinated, it's tough to be too complimentary about the team's efforts. The Royals still have 10 unvaccinated players on their roster, a massive figure compared to other teams around the league.

New York City has a mandate that requires vaccination if you work indoors there.
I thought Adams relaxed it.
Is this because they are playing in Canada? Are they playing with 15 players or calling up 10 from the minors? Are other teams playing short? Everywhere or only in Canada?
I’m glad the players didn’t bend. Just wish they were playing better.
IIRC, no pro sports league in the country has a vaxx mandate for PLAYERS.
Just for coaches and staff.
How do staff and coaches feel about that?
I guess just *lucky* to have their jobs?
Geez.
The MLB is playing?
I really don’t care anymore. Lot’s of my friends stopped caring as well.
No more ball games in person, no more radio or TV.
Course we were Ranger fans, so it might be out of self preservation.
That hasn't been in place for quite some time.
Royals won their first game, 3-1. Four players of the starting lineup were playing their first Major League game, called up from the minors. Ned Eaton, the Center Fielder, was playing in his first ML game and got his first Major League hit, a home run. He is vaccinated. The politicians ought to be pleased.
I weaned myself from wasting time watching meaningless football games once my sons finishing playing high school football.
The sports hype is no different than the hype in the news media. Watch, buy, spend, get jabbed, etc.
There off to a good start. KC beat Toronto 3-1 tonight.
Also for us Tigers fans.
Real men stand up to tyranny, and throwing a ball around isn't worth your health or your life.
