The Pentagon’s top leaders are now scrambling for ways to find new recruits to fill out the ranks of the all-volunteer military. Woke policies are key to dwindling recruit numbers in all branches of the service.
Being a successful military recruiter at times can be difficult, especially over the last couple of years due to inept leadership and woke policies. This has led to a poor recruitment environment not seen since the Vietnam War ended. All branches of the military are currently well under their projected recruitment goals, despite generous enlistment bonuses.
The Army raised its maximum enlistment bonus from $40,000 to $50,000, and now offers new recruits up to $10,000 for showing up to basic training in 30 days. The Navy is right in step with the Army, offering incentives of up to $50,000 to qualified recruits depending upon the program and position sought. Even the Air Force, which usually never offers enlistment incentives due to receiving ample applicants, is seeing warning signs in their recruitment efforts.
One reason given for lower recruitment numbers is the lingering effect of Covid. “We spend a lot of time dealing with high schools and colleges, but when all those major institutions went to remote classes, then of course that impacted our ability to be able to get in and connect with our young men and women” said Major General Kevin Vereen, commander of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command…

hmm, lets see why would that be. Could it be that you are forced to get the jab or be kicked out? Could it be that you could end up in Leavenworth fo using the wrong pronoun? Could it be that the Sec Def and Chairman of the JCS are leading a witch hunt for partiots among the ranks that they call white supremists? Or as the article says is it the demented perv who is commander in chief with anti American policies? Probably all of the above and more.
Studies on labor trends, going back to 2025 or so, show that every year there are 5% fewer folks that want to go into: the military, law enforcement, fire services/emt, any of the trades, truck driving, basically all things blue collar.
It’s one of the reasons that the DOT is allowing 18yr olds to get CDLs.
The feminization and emasculation of boys had been a planned disaster. Toss in the fact that millions are hypnotized by the various social media sites. Not a good recipe.
I heard 60,000 were kicked to the curb because they refused to take an experimental vaccine.
Stop the woke and start getting real men again, it’s that easy.
Another factor is that with soldiers having to have a government Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) account into which part of their pay goes to fund their retirement, serving in the military has become “just another job.” Whenever a soldier gets out they take their TSP with them.
No longer is there the ‘serve 20 years and draw half pay’ in retirement or ‘serve 30 years and draw 75% pay’ in retirement.
That change has made the military no longer a profession or career, but ‘just another job.’

Given the current state of the military, and the clowns running it, I would not want any of my children considering it as a career.
Will my children fight for this country? No. They would fight for me, my husband, each other, and freedom. But not for the wackos twerking on cop cars and not the morons in DC.

the military - woke and pushes women over men and trans over everyone.
law enforcement - underpaid, are not allowed to do their job, everyone they catch is just released, risk their lives daily and everyone hates them.
fire services/emt - underpaid, but otherwise surprised they are on the list. Maybe I don’t know something here.
trades - requires hard dirty work that many tend to look down on.
truck driving - a life on the road where everyone hates you and cops go out of their way to make your life miserable.
Shocking that people don’t want to do most of these. NOT.
This is such crap- over the past 10 years I have known of at least 7 young, Christian, Caucasian teenagers (girls and boys) who wanted to enlist. They were all health and ready to serve but for some reason the Army and Air Force would put up such stupid roadblocks they all opted out. One example- one youg man was 6 ft 3 and the recruiter wrote down he was 5 ft 10. The medical staff told him he had to loose weight to be appropriate for his listed height- he went on a diet and tried to get down to the targeted weight. Another girl was ready to go to basic training and she got a call saying she couldn’t join after all because there was a record of her being prescribed an antidepressant - which she never had filled because her parents got her into counseling with a Christian counselor. There are many more stories like this-
I’m a 52 year old overweight, fat pencil pusher (Crypto Tech Technical, or CTT) Navy veteran with 75% lung function and sleep apnea.
I’ll go back in if the Navy will waive the PT requirements and bump me up one rank.
Frankly, I think the military NEEDS some of us from the 80’s to come back and straighten out the BS.
I did many moons in the military. I wouldn’t do that today. Working at a carnival and freak show was something I never had the desire to do.
The Leftist top brass had a plan. Weed out the historically patriotic members of the military and replace them with woke recruits. Except the woke don’t want to be in the military. The Leftist top brass are idiots.

How do you do that?
Could it be that these kids think the military is “only” special forces—and they can’t do the PT for that. Or they see how the government screws over people hurt in the service ( wounded warriors, tunnels to towers.)
While neither of those things are completely “true”, the message they get through the media isn’t real positive. The commercials about joining the National Guard to “help your community” is so absurd that even kids can see through that. Yeah…join to help out in a flood— then find yourself in a middle eastern shithole? No thanks.
FReepers tend to be a little more in tune with the “woke” stuff and they are giving it more weight than it deserves (at least in terms of recruiting.)
The COVID impact is more accurately measured because millions of high school aged kids simply dropped out. Not having a HS diploma was a non starter up until a few weeks ago. I am sure that cohort of potential recruits feed a lot of the recruiting slots.
There is no single answer. But when unemployment is 3.6% you are always going to have trouble attracting kids.
I think I see what triggered the roadblocks. Military recruiting has become like corporate HR.
