The problem has always been that the politicians have preferred to hide behind the Roe v. Wade ruling to electorally protect themselves, and did not want to have to debate, legislate, and vote on the issue of abortion.

This should never have been a SCOTUS decision in the first place. If Congress had acted 50 years ago, we wouldn't be in the situation we're in today.

For almost fifty years, pro-abortionists have had moral cover to assuage their consciences by assuring themselves and everyone who would listen that abortion was in the Constitution and was the law of the land and therefore had societal unction.

Now, abortion law requires review and majority vote just like any other law and they are deprived of that moral high ground. They are not happy.

Any honest person should applaud the overturn of Roe vs Wade, even ones that favor abortion being legal. It was on its legal merits such an absurd ruling that it was really just legal fraud rather than legal opinion. Nobody with an IQ above that of a toaster would be convinced of the legitimacy of the ruling based on reason.

I just gave up arguing with some dimwit on twitter about state’s rights. He says the people need to be able to vote in this. I said we already did in Missouri, by voting for a majority of pro-life individuals.

She is spot on, now their will grass roots pressure at the state and local level and inspired and impassioned pro-lifers will be engaged at the local level because that is where the pressure will have it’s best effect. This will shatter the Democratic party.
