Disney’s upcoming adventure film “Strange World” will feature a gay teen romance — the first in an animated feature produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The film, which is scheduled to open on Nov. 23, will follow three generations of a family of explorers and take viewers “to a place of infinite mystery unlike anything you’ve ever seen,” according to a trailer released by the studio earlier this month.
Several Hollywood powerhouses have been confirmed as part of the voice cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Gabrielle Union, Lucy Liu, Dennis Quaid and Jaboukie Young-White. On Friday, Disney screened three sequences from the film at the 2022 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, one of the world’s most important festivals for the film animation industry that takes place in the city of Annecy, in southeast France.
In one of them, Ethan (Young-White) flirts with a boy named Diazo in front of his friends, who tease him in a friendly way. His father, Searcher Clade (Gyllenhaal), later joins in and embarrasses him in “an overeager show of acceptance,” as the scene is described by Variety.
Emmy Award-winning producer Matthieu Saghezchi, who also saw the sequence, wrote on Twitter that the scene is “very endearing” and it’s “treated as the most natural thing in the world.”
“The scene describes the son being very shy in front of his boy crush, and his dad comes in and says “so nice to meet you! my son talks about you all the time” and further embarrasses his son,” Saghezchi wrote. “Very cute.” The refreshing nod to inclusivity comes as “Lightyear,” the much-anticipated “Toy Story” spinoff, was reportedly banned in 14 countries over a brief same-sex kiss.
The Disney-Pixar computer-animated adventure film starring Chris Evans as the voice of Buzz Lightyear features a kiss between Alisha, voiced by the actress Uzo Aduba, and her wife Kiko. On Monday, the United Arab Emirates announced that the film would not be shown in the country “due to its violation of the country’s media standards.”
They need to change the title to: “QUEER WORLD”.
Never overlook the fact that those in the entertainment business are different from the rest of us.
A staple of entertainment is to bring us into the world of the weird and to take aim at our emotions and fears and baser urges.
Spell ‘entertainment’ backwards, take out a few letters and put a few new ones in and you get ... whatever you want.
The Groomiest Place on Earth strikes again.
Strange world indeed.
In the French vernacular, “Fog - o -way.”
I had figured that Disney (and any supposed family media producer) could incrementally add ‘gay’ stuff in to their subscription services, because it’s not something that would fly in movie theaters, but could be bundled in with its other productions.
And people paying monthly on an auto pay aren’t as likely to dump the service.
But it’s another thing to peddle it and make it theater only, which I guess is what Light-year is..
And I read this but it didn’t say it was a Disney+ thing, so it’s another theater only rollout..
And not till November..
A shame they didn’t get it out so they could share it in their high holy month of Pride..
Down the drain! Go woke, go broke!
A broken perverted company will produce perverted art.
And here it is.
Expect things to get worse absent a move of God.
Notice Dennis Quaid, who frequents Christian themed films, is in this movie.
Next their gonna do a woke El Kabong.
Been a lifelong Disney fan, no more.
They have become the evil empire.
Another Disney movie I will not see. My wife wanted to do a Disney vacation this coming December, and I was successful in getting her to change from Disney to Universal Orlando.
Keep it up Disney, we used to come to WDW Orlando 2-3 times per year, but now, I could care less if we ever visit again!
Oh, and your new CEO is a world class putz.
Unfortunately, I see a lot of Christian churches flying rainbow flags. The more trendy churches even have tranny flags and BLM signs.
But it’s not natural. It’s wrong.
And shame on those who are pushing this at young, impressionable minds as if it is natural.
Matthew 18:6
.. but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
Impossible for me to boycott Disney.
I tend to give a lot of actors a pass, in that they need a paycheck; like everyone else. Acting gigs are sometimes few and far between, and getting a spot where you read for a few scenes; it's entirely plausible that he was completely unaware of the content of the movie. Not saying he didn't know, he may have. Then again, I don't know his financial situation.
I can't think of many actors who haven't taken a role that they probably should have passed on. The people I do hold accountable, are the Writers, Director and Producers who decided to make this kind of trash. They know exactly what they are foisting upon the public, instead of making a decent movie that will actually sell tickets and make a profit. May I offer "Top Gun" and the "Despicable Me" franchises as examples.
Agree 100%
Was shocked at how expensive Disney has become; and was so pleasantly pleased at how comparatively inexpensive Universal was.
So, for my family; we chose to NOT support the Groomers, and are going to Universal, which has more intense rides (not as “immersive” as Disney, face it, nobody captures the experience that Disney has mastered). But, bang for the buck; it’s very difficult to compete against Universal.
BTW, at the entrance of Universal there is a “FASTPASS” you can buy for the park(s), for an additional fee - seriously consider doing this. Think of it as Unlimited FastPass, all day long, for all rides.
