Police charged a Fort Worth, Texas woman on May 4 with abuse of a corpse after she threw the ashes of her boyfriend’s mother into Lake Worth, local station KXAS reports.
The Fort Worth Police Department said Ernest Smith, 38, told officers that his girlfriend Augustine Gladney, 40, confessed to him in a text message that she dumped his mom’s ashes.
It appears that the incident resurfaced recently after a TikTok video that purports to show Gladney throwing the ashes in the lake went viral on social media. It’s captioned, “He cheated so i threw his mom ashes in the river.”

A break in the case came recently after Smith said he overheard Gladney tell her daughter on the phone that she threw the urn into the lake. About four hours after he heard the conversation, Gladney reportedly sent Smith the text confession, which he kept for evidence.
Gladney faces up to a year in prison and a maximum fine of $4,000 if convicted.

Oh. I didn’t notice. Lol.
LOL - that just means you’re a healthy male.
It’s not against the law to throw ashes into a lake, ocean or river. It is illegal to get caught or tell anybody about it.
My thoughts too
Cremated remains are covered under the Texas law.

Break up formally if you want to end a committed relationship, even one as “high-schoolish” as going steady. Just disappearing is cowardly and cruel.
F you and your mom and your sister and your job and your broke down car and the things you call art...
What a terrible thing to do.
When there has been sexual intimacy involved with either female. Duh.
That’s why Navy ships dump garbage off of the fantails.
There is a distinction to be made between one-night stands and “boyfriend”, which your post 5 was questioning. We don’t know whether her status was agreed-upon or wished for, but my answer to your question was about persons who are okay with being known by their female counterpart as “boyfriend.” A “boyfriend” does not have one-night stands, either with his “girlfriend”, with whom he has an ongoing relationship, or with other women while he has a “girlfriend,” unless he has a death wish.
Is the man blind? We can’t help what we look like but we do have the option not to make matters worse.
Thank you!
Yikes! She be ug-leee.
Another black woman with no impulse control. What’s up with that?
You’re welcome. I just find the whole concept of cremation to be morally offensive.
How dare someone burn up a loved one and then keep their remains on a mantle as if it were their bowling trophy? How dare someone burn up a loved one and then cry crocodile tears when those remains are further disrespected such as this case.
